Meal plan and the Hoop-De-Doo Revue

We are planning on our Disney trip sometime in either early or late October. We are going to get the basic meal plan? 1 sit down, 1 snack, and 1 quick service meal per day per person. We want to book the Hoop-De-Doo Revue and a friend said we can do so by using 2 of our table service (sit down) meals per person for pay for the show & dinner. So that would mean we would lose 1 day each of a table service meal - I'm sure we can either pay ourselves for that one day to eat somewhere, no problem. Just wanted to make sure though that this is correct and a good plan???

It's up to you, as your friend is correct that it would cost you two TS credits per person.

You don't have any credits allotted by day - you get them all in one lump sum when you check in, and you can use them as you see fit.

Also, you should note that you do not receive credits based on how many days you stay, but how many nights. If you stay 7 nights and 8 days you will receive credits based on 7 nights (7 TS, 7CS and 7 snacks per person)

We are going on our first trip late October and we are going to do the Hoop Dee Doo and use 2 TS credits to pay for it. There are 2 nights we are eating at places that don't take the Disney dining plan (T-Rex Cafe and Rainforest Cafe) so we had 2 TS credits left over. You can always just pay out of pocket for your one meal that you will have to skip by using the 2 credits for one show. And the meal you pay for out of pocket doesn't have to be another table service meal. You could choose that night to eat a counter service meal in one of the parks or at your resort food court.

You are correct about the information. We are going to be doing HDDR and another 2 credit meal on our 8 night trip in August, but likely won't pay out of pocket at all.

As another poster said - you don't have to use all your credits on specific days (and one small correction - you get credits based on number of NIGHTS of your stay, not days). So what we do is share a lot of CS meals. We also bring cereal in our luggage for many breakfasts (that plus a bagel or cinnamon roll snack credit). We are 2 adults and 2 kids...when we eat at CS locations, we share 3 meals (about). Plus on arrival night we usually hang by the resort pool and get the pizza takeout deal for large pizza, 2 drinks and 2 desserts for 2 CS credits (and this feeds us all), so this gives us extra CS meals to use on non-TS days. We also likely will do one 'all snack' meal during the week - to use up snack credits since we usually end up with too many. That will likely be a lunch at Main St Bakery with muffins, fruit and cookies for our lunch. We'll do it on a day when we have an early-ish big buffet dinner so don't want a big lunch anyway. Anyway - this leaves us with plenty of CS credits to stretch to nights when we don't have a TS planned.

We prefer it this way as honestly the dining plan is a lot of food and I get sick of food by about the 5th or 6th day. So we intentionally do a couple 2 credit meals to avoid a sit down every night.
