Meal ideas for Pentecost? 🍲🥘🥗😋🕊️🔥

I was thinking of spicy barbecue chicken, strawberry lemonade, seasonal salad, some garlic bread, and a strawberry short cake for dessert.

I'd go with spinach and black bean enchiladas, accompanied by Mexican rice, and a mixed greens salad with a lime-shallot vinaigrette and pepitas. You could start off with a trio of dips or salsas with tortilla chips ... mango salsa, habanero salsa, guacamole, queso dip, etc. Finish with something simple like dulce de leche ice cream.

What did you have in previous years, Buzz? :goodvibes
In the past, a roast beef if it was cool enough to use the oven or something on the grill when hot. It's a Catholic tradition to eat some kind of bird (representing the dove/holy spirit) and something with orange or red for dessert (representing the holy fire). A salad or bread is often served, with some opting instead for their favorite vegetables. During the last couple of heat waves, my family honestly got Chinese take out. Sometimes it's just too hot to cook. I try to avoid cooking on 90 plus days.
