I have a 5 day 4 night trip already planned at WDW...I am taking an extra day to do WWoHP. I am looking at Universal Studio's website and see they have a "all you can eat" meal deal. I do not see much about it so I'm wondering if this is worth it.

Thoughts??

I was considering the express pass, but I see that you can't use on most of HP rides...so wouldn't really be worth it. I will be there early June...so I am hoping it won't be too crazy.

Although I've never tried it the Meal Deal is supposedly limited to certain restaurants. Compare its price vs. what is probably the same food prices as Disney for a day.

I saw there is only 3 places at IOA that I can use the deal, but for $20.99 My son...who can eat can get a meal and desert as much as he wants for the day...I know he should enjoy it. My daughter is only 9.99...sounds like a good deal...I just feel it's too good to be true

Yes...there are three restaurants in both parks that accept the meal deal. Of the three IOA restaurants, I would recommend Comic Strip Cafe over the other two...although The Burger Digs is good when you hit it right. Comic Strip Cafe has lots of choices and The Burger Digs will give you lots of topping choices for the burgers. It's a great deal when you are taking teens who eat a lot.

If you have a large group or people who like to eat alot then it might be worth it.It is only at select CS eateries( not all) and does not include drinks. As for Express pass, I would wait and see how busy the parks are .If it looks busy you can buy them and it will save you time. The ONLY rides it is not good on are Forbidden Journey, Ollivanders wand show ,Pteranodon Flyers and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockt. All the others take it including the 2 coasters in WWoHP.

We opted not to get the meal deal since we knew DS is Potter obsessed and we would have to eat at Three Broomsticks. We ended up spending 70% of our day in WWoHP having the meal deal would not have worked out for us since the locations included were not convenient.

i have done the meal deal at the studios side.

i occassionally buy it when i have a long stay onsite. (9-10 days)
it is time consuming and eats away from park time.

it doesn't start until 10:30 am, no breakfast is included, and ends 30 minutes prior to park closing.

i only do the meal deal on a day i plan on no rides, just shows and walking around to take pictures.

only 2 of the restaurants will i eat at on that program at the studio side.

beverages are not included in the meal deal promo.

If you think of there being 3 rides in WW, Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge, and Hippogrif, 2/3 of the rides have Express Pass. If you include Ollivander's as a ride (and I have a hard time calling it that), then it's still half of the "rides" in Wizarding World that are covered by the Express Pass.

Don't know if it's worth it, but it's always worth it to know the exact places EP can and cannot be used. :)

We are looking at the meal deal only because it seems cheaper if you eat 2 counter service meals. But some post said it is time consuming and i am not sure what they mean by this. Why is this more time consuming then without the meal deal?

I have no idea if I should get the meal plan or not. I KNOW I will be eating at the Three Broomsticks, but have no idea whatsoever if I will have time to eat anywhere else. My Mom got it for her, my dad, and my brother, along with a souvinier cup, and now it seems like she's trying to pressure me into getting it :worried::worried: even though I have no idea if I can use it!

I really do not know.... I've looked at both sides and think it looks okay, but I'm not sure.... I think that in order to have time to eat anywhere else I'd have to cut out a ride. I only have 8 1/2 hours and have to be at the front gate by 8pm. And I have to meet with our director at 4pm in front of the Hulk!!!! So I may not be able to use it!

Please help me! :eek::eek::eek:

Disneynut I probably wouldn't get the meal deal if I was your group, if it was my first trip to WWoHP I would want to eat at the 3broomsticks.

4inapod the meal plan is more time consuming because there are only 3 CS to eat at in each park, where as if you are not on the plan you can eat anywhere. However the 3 CS in IOA are spaced out nicely and the food is decent for park food.

If your family eats small meals it would probably be cheaper w/o the plan because you could share meals, there is no sharing food on the meal deal and they do watch. My friends and I are big eaters and we really make the meal deal work for us, but even if we weren't big eaters I just like the convenince mainly, no tickets, money or cards to deal with they just scan your wrist band.

When my friends and I go we get the meal deal 2 out of 3 days and do citywalk and 3broomsticks the other day.

I did purchase the meal deal...my soon to 16 year old son can eat a lot!! we are going to eat at our hotel for breakfast and then lunch at the a snack and dinner at IOA. Even considering grabbing a final meal before we leave. Knowing my son...he will eat it. I did buy the drink cups as well. I am going to keep track of how much the two eat so see if it will be worth it for future trips. Thanks for feedback:)

It is only good for 3 restaurants per park and when I was there it was only good at
Universal- Louies, International Food Festival and Mels Diner
IOA- Circus MCgirkus, Burger Digs and Comic Strip Cafe
It can be time consuming to trek to the locations I guess..I don;t know, but we weren't interested since other than Louies those CS choices weren't on our list or on the list of the better CS places

I believe the time consuming part is having to wait in line all the time. Most of the restaurants will only have 1 food line open or sometimes 2 at the busy times. So if you want to grab a couple of pieces of pizza you have to wait in line. Mels has several cash registers open most of the time so it is an easy in and out. As was said earlier, I only get the meal deal on the days that eating as much food as I possibly can is the main priority and riding rides is secondary.

Comic Strip Cafe is great, has a lot to choose from. Burger Digs has great burgers and FRIED FISH!!! And a lot of toppings like you said for burgers. I usually make a side salad here lol.

I get the meal deal 80% of the time. I think it's a great deal. You can eat salads, burgers, hot dogs, Chinese food, fruit, pizza, pasta, deserts, chicken, chicken tenders, fries, onion rings, and more! Definitely a great variety for everyone.

Example: The last time I got it I ordered 2 ceasar salads with grilled chicken (about $8 each), Mediterranean salad or something (about $8 each), rotisserie chicken with corn on the cob and corn slaw (about $9), Chicken tenders with onion rings (about $9). So that day cost me $22 for the meal deal and would of been $42! Not including the deserts that are included. It really depends how much you eat. If you plan on being at the park the whole day and are going to have at least 2 plates of food, I think it's worth it.

Keep in mind, if you like soda, you can add unlimited soda for about $10. This is just the first time. Once you have that cup, you can bring it back whenever you'd like and as long as you get the meal deal, you'll receive free refills. I bring water bottles to the park, but it's a great option for soda drinkers!
