Anyone do the meal deal recently. We are thinking about purchasing the meal deal and wondered about everyone's opinons on it.

Its a good deal if you do a lot of in park eating. I was thinking of getting it my last trip, but I only ate in park once a day, so I didn't get it.

I think most people on the DIS would agree it's not a great deal unless you eat a lot of fast food type meals. You will probably be better off skipping it but you can decide once you arrive...you don't have to purchase it ahead of time.

I agree, get it if you eat a lot in the park otherwise it's not a great deal.

My family was considering the meal plan as well. Most of you have said that it's good if you don't mind eating fast food. What other options are there? Are you packing your lunch/dinner? Are you leaving Universal property and eating outside the park? Where do you eat if you're not eating in the park?

You don't have to leave Universal property do get a good meal. There are sit down restaurants in both parks that are excellent choices. Thunder Falls Terrace (counter service but very good), Mythos, Lombard's and Finnegan's are wonderful sit down restaurants and most of the time, reservations are not needed. And of course...you have all the CityWalk restaurants to try as well.

The main thing with the meal deal is all you get is standard theme park fare...burgers, chicken fingers, pizza, etc. Other places have salads, seafood and sandwiches that are very tasty.

I'm trying to find out if it's worth it to buy the meal deal ticket for DH, DD6, and I. We will be primarily at WDW with the dining plan, and may go with the WDW deluxe plan, so not sure if I want to spend an extra 60 at Universal. If I could peruse the menus with prices, I'd know whether its worth it, or if we should just do OOP.

I think we are going to do the meal deal. Checked the menus and it is a lot of fast food but we are also going to disney and will be doing sit down meals there so a few burgers or pizza will be a welcome change. Especially, since we've been dieting to get ready for the trip.

When I buy the meal deal, I only get it for the studios side.

I love Louie's !!
great pizza, salads and meatball sandwiches.

when i have the arm band, i go in line more than once for more pizza.
don't miss that place.


another winner for me is IFFF/Internation Food Film Festival.
the fried chicken plate is like mom used to cook.
the fruit salads are excellent.


the restaurants will close 30 minutes prior to park closing.
they open at 11 each day, no breakfast on the meal deal.

beverages are separate.
you can buy a mug and get cheap refills for it.
and, you can bring the mug back each time you visit UO and still get the refills for it.


i always stand alone on the meal deal with my homie friends.
i only buy it for one day only when i am there for 6 days.
