Hey gang. We're just back from WDW and used Magical Express. Or should I say Not-so-magical Express. The luggage worked out great. Our bag beat us to the room and showed up on the luggage carasel back home just as expected.
While sitting on the bus waiting for it to take us over to WDW for 20+ minutes (they didnt turn the movie on until we hit the road) I realized that it was opperated by Mears. Mears, whom we have heard such horror stories about, like the bus never showing for the return trip to the airport, that we have never used them. Well sure enough we arrived at the valet station of our resort at 5:30 for a 5:40 pick up for our 8:30 (last of the evening) flight home. At 5:55, the valet assured us that there would be a 6:10 bus, even if the 5:40 didn't show. At 6:15 I reapproached the podium. While waiting for the same woman to get off the phone, another valet offered to help. I asked at what point they would make other arrangements for us, since we were still waiting for our 5:40 ME. He immediately said he'd grab a manager and get us help right away. Meanwhile the woman got off the original phone call and called ME. I heard her say, "what about the 6:10? 6:40?......Well that wont work." It seemed that one family wasn't worth the effort of showing up. The other valet and the manager came over, flagging the nearest cab along the way. The manager apologized, assured us that they were handling the fare, handed the cabbie some cash adn we were on our way.
Since Disney is the middle-man and did handle it as well as they should have, I wouldn't say, "don't do it!" to you guys, but do be for-warned.
