Me the Stupid Mom in DollarTree!

Earlier today I ran over to DollarTree to see what I could go ahead and get for our trip. When I walked in there right in front of me was one of my favorite things: the trial size rack. I am oohing and aahing and picking up shampoo, toothpaste, tissues, etc. when my DD10 looks at me and says "Mom, can't you buy the real size for the same price? Isn't everything a dollar?"

As I stammered some stupid excuse I sent her to find a new brush and put everything back and went and got the "real" size of shampoo, toothpaste, tissues, etc.

I'm with you. My suitcase is so overfilled. My daughter took a whole bunch of dollar store type stuff out making the weight bearable. So now i need to find a Dollartree during our first day shopping trip. I think I can spend the $12 or so to save the extra weight.

It's such a bummer when you realize your kids are smarter than you. My kids are always showing me up too!

I think we all would have done the same thing.
I however, wouldn't have even THOUGHT of going to the dollar store to stock up on the essentials. You can bet that I will now though so thanks!

I don't spend money on trial sizes. I just save small bottles and refill as needed. For conditioner I bought an empty bottle for no more than a dollar, because I wanted a certain size. I've gotten a ton of use out of it, and there's no searching for a certain brand, because I use what I have at home.
