ME Question

Our party of 10 is staying at WDW on Sun-Thurs. With flights considerably cheaper on Sat and to avoid waking up in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday to catch our flight, we are due to arrive at MCO around 5:30pm on Sat. We got cheap rooms at the airport through Priceline for Sat night and plan to use ME on Sunday morning to take us to our resort. My question is, will we have to get our own luggage on Saturday and take it with us to the ME checkin on Sunday? With 4 kids going, I wondered if we could pack enough for our overnight stay in carry-on luggage and let ME handle our baggage. Will they allow the luggage to arrive a day sooner than us and hold it at the resort? We are going to have tons of stuff...especially with 3 guys bringing golf clubs. Any tips on the options we may have here are appreciated!

Thanks!

No, you will have to take your own luggage to the bus with you. Your ride on DME is tied to your room reservation, so they will not take any luggage that arrives before the start of the reservation. Leave your checked bags as is and put anything you will need for the night in the carryons. That way you dont' need to go fishing around in the checked bags. Just put them on the floor in your room and pick them up again in the morning.
I would pack some clean underwear, shorts/tee's in a carryon. That's really not that much. Another thing....my dd has been carrying her own carryon bag since she was 4. It's not heavy and she knew she had to take responsibility for her own things. Sure has made her a dandy little traveler. And it takes a load off mom and dad. And they learn that they should take only what they really need...not those 'just in case' items that weigh a ton!!!
Yes, it's a pain to lug all that stuff around. But you have to make a choice here....cheaper airfare or not lugging bags around. I would stick with the cheaper airfare!

How cheap is the airport hotel? You could spend your first night at a Disney value resort and have ME transport your bags. Then the next day Disney will transfers your bags to the resort for the rest of your trip.

Okay, thanks for the replies. I figured having ME take our luggage a day early was too good to be true. We are pretty set to stay at the airport...since we pricelined the rooms, they are non-refundable. Great rates though, $45/night at the airport hyatt. I think with the fees, taxes it came to about $58/room. I think we will just definitely put all of our first day necessities in one bag so everything else can remain untouched.

Thanks for clarifying!
