ME question re: split stay

I called the number provided on MDE to sign up for ME. The CM sounded a little confused about my reservation # (I reserved on hotels.com - BUT I called to get the DISNEY official reservation number so it will show up in MDE - which it does, and that's the # I provided to CM).

Later I saw someone post a link to get to the ME form that is online, so I went on there and filled the form out. There was a box to check if my information was 'already provided to Disney' so i checked that box. But the form did not have anywhere to indicate the departure hotel - we're doing a split stay. Will they automatically know with our magic band info where to pick us up? I do plan on asking after we arrive - but it just seems weird that I can't verify ANY ME info on MDE! I'd like to see it to feel confident we did it right and will have a ride once we arrive! ME hasn't been the easiest thing to figure out. TIA!

You need to have a separate DME reservation for each stay (fill out two separate forms - incoming for Stay 1 and outgoing for Stay 2).

And no, none of your information regarding DME will show up on MDX.

Even if you don't manage to get the form submitted properly, on arrival the DME desk at the airport can look up your room reservation and print a voucher for you to use on the bus. So long as you have a room reservation, you can ride the bus.

Returning is a little trickier. If you don't receive the voucher on your door the day before you leave, the resort concierge can get you a printed voucher. Might have to call DME directly if they don't have your flight info.

But the thing to remember about a split stay is that the system considers it to be two or more totally separate reservations. You must make the proper DME arrangements for each reservation.

We almost always do a split stay as we combine vacations with a visit from FLA relatives and the size of the room/vila we need changes.

What I do is make two completely separate one way reservations via the website. It looks like you already have a one way on the inbound with your first reservation so I would go back and make another one way (there is a box for this) for the outbound with the 2nd reservation number. I always print out the confirmation page prior to leaving the site and then you should also get an email with the details in a few hours.

Honestly I have done this at least a dozen times and never (knock wood) had an issue. In fact we often have folks coming and going at different times and as long as I make each reservation separate with the corresponding resort reservation # and guest it works out fine.

I would do 2 separate res. forms as previously stated. I know there is way to do it in 1 but I have had nothing but issues doing this way.

Make or check your Magical Express reservation back to the airport after you have arrived at the second resort.

You should still get a confirmation paper at your room the day before the day you will check out. If it is not correct (or missing), make appropriate changes at the front desk that morning of the day before the day you will check out.

you need to make two separate dme reservations....for arrival going to the first resort, then for departure from the second resort.
