Ok--we arriving in Orlando at 11:00am and plan to head to the beach for a few hrs. Would it be better to get a rental car at the airport and head to the beach and just drop it back off at Disney & check in later (8pm) or would it be easier to use ME--go to Disney--check in--and then get a rental and head to the beach?

Which is easier? And, would we get stuck w/ bad rooms if we dont check in till 8pm?

The easiest option would be to rent a vehicle at MCO, go to the beach and drop it off at the Car Care Center (Only Alamo and National). I would doubt you would get a "bad room" because they can't down grade you, they can only upgrade you. If you have a special request though (example: a ground floor room) it might be harder to get that request honored later at night.

Ok--it doesnt matter what floor we are on---kids would enjoy upstairs anyway until they have to climb stairs after a full day at the parks! I would just like to have Toy Story or Fantasia---I havent req. either during booking---should I call back and request it? Or just wait? Also--should I req. a fridge?

Does anyone have good beach ideas, and driving directions? (and time it takes to get to beach)

I had a third floor room at the CR and it had an elevator and a fridge. I just got a home few days ago. For me and my family using ME was a nightmare. Which ever you choose have a great time!

I would rent a car at MCO and head over to Cocoa beach. Its a straight drive from the airport and its only about an hour away. Even when we stay on-site we rent a car, so you may want to keep it for the week.
