Hi!
I'm going to be driving to the AKL resort with an Alamo Car from Fort Lauderdale. When my week is up, I'd like to drop my car off at the Dolphin Alamo car rental return and then take the ME to the MCO airport when I leave 2 days later. (Keeping the car for the whole week turns out to be the cheapest way to go, even though I could return it after 5 days)
Will I be able to do this & is it still free? Do I have to make arrangements in advance or can I just tell the cast member at check in?
Thanks to all for all the great info on the Dis boards!

:moped: I'm heading off to the AKL March 2-7, 2006 with DD! :goodvibes

You can take DME one way, either way. Just make sure you have your reservation in advance. Call CRO, or call DME directly, tell them what you're doing and what you want, and you'll be all set. Don't wait until you arrive at WDW!!!

Have fun!

You can go only one way. However we were planned for a round trip and ME decided not to show for the return trip......

I'm just curious why, since you'll have the rental car the whole time anyway, you don't just drive it back to the airport and skip DME this trip? Would you run into extra hours charges? That'd make sense to return the car early, but if it's just because you're flying a participating airline and want DME to handle your luggage for the return trip, they wll do that. And you can get your boarding pass at the same time, but you don't have to be on the bus back to the airport so you save yourself the trouble of hauling suitcases.

This is my question as well. Flying into MCO, to stay with my parents at The Villages the first leg of my trip. They could pick us up when we arrive at MCO, stay there with them for 4 days, then drop us off at Pop for the last five days of our vacation and then we could catch ME to take us to the airport. So you are saying this is possible??? Wow, glad I read this board tonight. I wasn't sure if they did one way or not! So, now all I have to do is call disney? This would save us 170 bucks. Thanks!
