My daughter and her family are flying. We are driving. We have 2 rooms booked. My 5 year old grandson is staying in our room and is on our reservation. The rest of his family is in the other room. I have booked ME for everyone who is flying including the 5 year old. We have the ME tags and vouchers for everyone but the 5 year old. For some reason Disney cannot get it right that he needs to ride ME also. I have called 3 times and been told that they will fix it and send the vouchers out to us. We still don't have them. The last agent told me that he should have been in his parents room! If he shows up at the ME desk with his family and doesn't have any vouchers will they let him on the bus? I can't imagine that they would leave a 5 year old standing alone at the airport!

You can book Magical Express for your room too, even though you are not landing at Orlando Airport on check in day. Then send or fax to your daughter a copy of your room reservation.

However DD can only have 4 DME guests going her way (or whatever the capacity her room is.) You may end up having to drive to MCO and, if your car is packed full, have one adult get out and escort your grandson on DME to your resort using the DME reservations you had booked for those not flying).

Depending on where you are when your daughter lands, you could roost at some (I-75?) exit north of Orlando and contact her when she lands. If the DME CM's at the welcoming area manage to finagle DGS onto her bus then you can skip the MCO detour. Going to Disney you do not have to be punctual for DME so DD and her family can wait for you at the welcoming area if they get in first and Disney fails to get it right and fix it at that late juncture.

Just book DME for everyone in your room, too. You don't have to ride the bus.

I thought about booking it for everyone in our room. We're booked at BWI. We just put the 5 year old in our room to guarantee 2 beds. That is what the booking agent suggested. I can't change the 5 year old to his parents room because he will lose his free dining according to the agent I talked with. My daughter only has 3 people booked in her room so 5 year old would be the fourth one on ME. What a mess! If I don't get his ME vouchers soon, I'll just book us on ME too. I've been to WDW many times but we've never had some driving and some flying before. We're retired now so we thought we would drive and take everyone's luggage. We have a large SUV and enjoy the drive down. Thanks!

When you call, do they say he's in the system but you just don't have the voucher? If that's the case, when the family arrives at MCO, they can just go to the counter and they'll print out a voucher there.

No they don't have him in the system, but he is listed on our reservation.

I wonder if the issue is he's under age and can't take the bus by himself and since he's in the room with you not his parents the computer won't issue him a voucher.
I would make the reservations for you including him, regardless of if you will use them (but use the parents flights).

If I don't get his ME vouchers soon, I'll just book us on ME too.

I would just do that now - there's really no point in waiting. The DME system isn't really set up to do what you're wanting them to do. They can't add him by himself because he's too young to ride the bus by himself, and they can't link him with his parents because they're on a different reservation. The only way to ensure that the whole thing doesn't get screwed up is to just book DME for everyone in your room.

Just put your room occupants on a DME reservation. You don't have to be taking the bus, but it will allow your grandson to ride with his family. Much better than waiting around, hoping it all works out.

You are all right. I'll add all of us today. This is like FP+ making me book FPs for the day we arrive that we won't be using! We want to go to Illuminations with FP+ but I have to book 2 others to get that one. Such a waste!
