ME late arrival question

My family is arriving at disneyworld on oct 2nd for our first stay as dvc owners at blt...our flight doesnt arrive until 8:30pm..so, im assuming we won't be in our room until close till 9:30pm..should i still expect upto 4 hours for luggage delivery? we're just going to grab dinner at 9:30 somewhere in downtown disney if we can and then go to bed..but i don't want to have to wait until midnight to have our luggage delivered!

When we've arrived late, we pick up our luggage, and take it on the bus with us.

It could take that long for your luggage to be delivered. Depending on how many other guests are arriving that evening, you bags could get there within an hour or two or it could take several hours. Guests are pretty much at the mercy of the system.

I would have any items you will need in a carryon. If the timing is important you can gather your own bags - as long as you have not put the yellow DME tags on them. If the tags are there, the luggage won't even appear on the carousel.

I would recommend retrieving your bags at the airport and bringing them with you on the ME, unless you do not mind waiting until the morning for your luggage.

The last time I arrived late (landed around 9:30, got to resort around 10:45), I approached the bellhop around 12:30 am for an ETA and was told that my bags had not yet left the airport, the delivery time is really longer than 4 hours, and they were unable to determine when the bags actually would be delivered to the resort. They offered to call me in the wee hours of the morning if I wanted them delivered to the room upon arrival, or to schedule a drop-off at my room the following morning. I went with the scheduled drop-off as I thought it was more important to get some sleep before heading to the parks the next day.

Same with me. We landed at 11:00 and for to the hotel about 12:30 or so. The bags were not delivered that night. They called early in the morning and brought them then. We were told this when we booked ME and knew ahead of time to put whatever we would need in our carry ons.
