ME is a joke

I would tend to doubt anyone would know that...wouldn't they be on that first arriving bus???

not necessarily... it would depend on what resort they were heading to...

my DME experience is that the more expensive the resort the slower the DME service... go figure!

wait ... I'm confused. Does this mean it took 2 hours to complete the check-in process? Or is it that from landing to the completion of the check-in process was 2 hours total (which isn't that bad considering how busy they were) - Sometimes the check-in lines at some of the resorts can be quite long (once waited 25 mins on check-in line at POP before getting to a CM). Happy Thanksgiving - (I sure would be thankful if i were celebrating the holiday at Disney World!)

I have a reservation at T-Rex and was wondering which bus stop we should get off at DTD. I am unfamiliar with the general area.
Thanks.

I think that she meant his statement that it always happens with Boston transit buses.

Admittedly, it does happen in this city sometimes - you know because the other buses come before yours has left the stopped or you see it happening in the other direction (especially if your stop if one of the first ones after the turn around).

The Pleasure Island (is it still called that? maybe it's called West Side?) stop is close by.

That's why I love online check-in!!:cool1: Less than 5 minutes total between the line and the counter before we were on our way to our room!!:cool1:

We only did ME once, just to experience it....wasnt the best so we stick to getting a car and driver from one of the transportation companies.....

I'd rather be waiting at MCO for a ME bus than sitting here in my office :) Lighten up ...your at DISNEY!! :woohoo:

My feelings exactly! If you don't like the wait times at ME, just imagine what it will be like in the parks...

Lighten up, and hope you're now enjoying the :wizard: of Disney!

It ended up taking over 2 hours to get checked in to our resort.

Is that two hours from when you landed to resort check in? If so, that is not bad at all, especially considering when you are traveling.

I think the Express in Magical Express is misleading to some. It is not a super fast way to get to your resort. However using ME does allow you to skip picking up your luggage, and it gets you to your resort with minimum fuss. For a free service it is pretty awesome. However if waiting for the bus is not your idea of fun then you may be better off renting a car or taking a towncar to your resort. But then you will still have to wait, but this time for your luggage. Unless you can pack for a vacation just using your carry-on. I have not yet mastered that, so for me ME is pretty great.:)

First off- you all calm down. I was just giving a report. There were hardly any buses running. Much different than what we experienced in the past.

I always seem to wait at least 30-45 mins for any bus at the airport (even the car rental shuttles). Check-in at the Port Orleans took at least 30 mins for us last time. 2 hours seems reasonable to me.

I don't see that anyone is all worked up.

Was it indeed 2 hours from landing to check in, or was that the time it took for you to check in at the resort? You still haven't claified that. If it was 2 hours from landing to check in than ME is running pretty much as usually and is not " a joke". It may not be your cup of tea, but that is different.

Again, others have asked was it 2 hours to get totally checked in, or did you spend another 2 hours getting checked in at the resort? No one really needs to calm down, dont see anyone getting too excited. You post, we start asking for specifics, some others debated the whole fast / slow free / paid deal. All everyone would like at this point I think is the answer to the question...

Unless you have some super secret insider info, I would like to know how you can say 'there were hardly any buses running' Just because there werent a line of them sitting there? They have to fight traffic like everyone else back and forth from WDW to MCO..

Ouch! Most of us WERE trying to be nice to you.

I think that Bumber was right - I was temporarily outside myself. I apologise for the pixie dust and good thoughts.

See what happens when you try to be nice, bavaria?

OP, your title of the thread is "ME IS A JOKE". Seemed more like a rant than a simple report.......

Have a nice day.

Good point. "Express", when used in relation to transportation, frequently means "from the pickup point (MCO) to the dropoff point (several Disney resorts) with no stop in between".

While your report is appreciated, common sense would indicate it's addressed to potential visitors with little or no Magical Express experience (because those of us who've used it in the past are well aware of it advantages and shortfalls). Given that, it would be extremely helpful if we could get clarification on exactly what took two hours - exiting the plane to completing checkin? Boarding the bus to completing checkin? Waiting in line and checking in once you were at the resort?

Also, given the day you arrived in Orlando - aka THE busiest travel day of the year - it's much more likely that there were plenty of buses running, but that they were all either recently dispatched from the airport, or actively dropping Guests at their respective resorts, or picking up Guests to go back to the airport, or en route...
