ME - Do we stop at the counter or not?

So in the past, we've always stopped to check in at the ME counter when we arrive at MCO. I've been reading some trip reports where people just go to the bus line now though. Has this been changed? We're leaving in a few weeks and I want to make sure we know where we're going. Thanks!

Our experience was that we went to get in line for the counter, but were stopped at the queue entrance by a CM who did a quick look at our docs and directed us to go to the bus queues. So we didn't actually have to go up to the desk and do anything there, but we did go to the Welcome Center before going to the bus queues. My recommendation based on that experience and on reading other resent posts is that you head to the Welcome Center first. You may or may not have to go and do anything at the actual "counter."

I was wondering about this myself, some recent posts seemed to indicate that you do not need to go to the counter. But there is nothing on the Disney website to reflect any changes.

Go to the counter. If, for some reason, DME allows some guests to bypass the counter area, they will let you know as you approach the line to the counter. Please....do not automatically go to the bus lines, unless instructed by a CM first.

We were there last week. There was a CM at the entrance of the counter line. She looked at our documents and sent us straight over to the bus line.

You still head toward the counter area but are intercepted by a CM right at the beginning of the queue area that will send you directly to the bus lanes if you have your documents.

If you need to actually go to the counter they will direct you there.

I have done this twice in the last three weeks.

This was what happened to us on July 2. :)
