Last few trips I have had 3 hours prior and 4 hours prior. Are they still at 4 or did they go back to 3? Domestic flight if that is relevant.

Resort pick-up for domestic flights is approximately three hours, prior to scheduled departure time.

I suspect the 4 hour pickup might have been during the 2017 holiday season. DME went to a 4 hour pick-up in fall of 2017 when MCO recommended a 3-hour airport arrival time due to anticipated holiday traffic. After the holidays, MCO went back to a recommended 2-hour airport arrival time and DME went back to the more typical 3-hour pick-up schedule.

They've been back to 3 hours prior since near the beginning of this year.
Although I had ended up having a 3.5 hour pick up yesterday which was inconvenient but meh whatever.

We were given a 3.5 hour prior pick-up last week.

We have 3 different scheduled pick ups for our party of 7 and the seemingly knowledgable CM on the phone gave me the pick up times for each of the flights.

How is that? DME only gives you the pick-up times the night before.
Actually when I called for mine 3 weeks prior the CM did say well looks like that will be a rather early pick up of 5:05am.
I figured it was more of an estimate on his end but that is what it was.
Also I didnt get a letter hanging on my door the evening before so I went to concierge to have the letter printed. Not that that had much to do with the timing but I thought I'd toss that in lol.

You didn't receive the notice with your pick up time the night before? Was that just an error on the part of the resort?

No we didn't.
This happened to us one other time when we first started staying onsite and we just arrived at the bus 3 hours prior and they yelled at us that we couldn't get on so we had to go to the front desk and have them print us a letter so after that we realized just how vital it is to receive it. This was the first time in the 11 years since that incident that we did not receive it so by 9pm we realized it was not going to come and we went down and asked for it. They just said hmm not sure why you didn't get it let me print you a letter.
Not too big of a deal for us but we knew we needed it. So yes I gather it was an error on their part because I certainly didn't do anything wrong.

I had to ask at Pop in March. I did not get one on my door the day before, so I stopped there the morning I was to leave and they gave me a time and letter.

My DD18 was starting at the all-stars in August & she didn’t receive the notice. I told her to go to front desk. I stayed at AkL with my younger DD and we received the pick-up notice, but on departure day only received an envelope (boarding pass & luggage tag) for my DD and not me. That one the front desk could do nothing about so we had to take our luggage with us.

I was told by front desks that the delivery of envelopes is third-party & doesn’t involve Disney. I know Magical Express was Mears. I guess I just didn’t expect third party strangers walking through hotels unnoticed. :confused3

Anyways, at least dissers know what to expect & can go get the info - I feel bad for those visitors who unknowingly never receive pick-up times.

You would have wanted RAC to print your boarding pass and luggage tag.

Good to know. This was our first trip without a car since my DH wasn’t with us. I wasn’t going to chance any more mix-ups, so I was ok with taking everything to the airport ourselves. ;) I’m surprised the front desk didn’t let me know to ask there though. :confused3 But then again, maybe not surprised.

RAC is run by a third party too. Perhaps they take care of the distribution of these envelopes. Also, FWIW, those pizza flyers a lot of people get under their doors - the distributors aren't permitted to be on site, yet I manage to get at least 1-2 of them per trip. Some could be legit but there was a news story that they are actually scammers.

Each resort has a schedule - for example :15 and :45. So they know in advance what your pickup will be (unless the change the schedule). On my trips this year, they look at your flight time and pick the time before 3 hours. So if your resort picks up :15 and :45 and your flight is 3:10, they will give you 11:45, not 12:15.

Just a reminder, you can use RAC if your airline is a participating partner, even if you are not signed up for DME. We used Lyft to MCO in January, but still used RAC to send our luggage ahead, plus they printed our boarding passes for us. I was planning to use my mobile app, but the paper worked fine as well.
