Ok I need a little reassurance from my fellow Disney-a-holics:lmao: I'm planning an at home wedding [as in our home town not WDW or DLR] and am going to be incorporating castles/glass slippers/ and mickey ears into our wedding and reception.....and the wedding colors are Pink/white. So far I have not heard anything bad about the colors.....but some people have given me wierd looks when I tell them i'm planning a Disney reception. I know it's my choice and what I like is what matters.......but I can't help but feel like i'm picking colors and themes that are waaayy too young for my age [even though i'm young]. Maybe i'm just freaking on the little stuff because it's getting close to "that time of the month":lmao: but I really need some reassurance that i'm not picking themes and color that belong to a 12 year old!:confused3

So far i'm thinking pink for my BM dress, pink roses for my flowers [with maybe red/white mixed in] pink flower centerpieces [again maybe with red/white], and pink and red confetti.....im not having a valentines day wedding but those are basically my colors...........am I crazy?:sad2:

I don't think you are crazy. I have seen several weddings using pink, white and red as the colors and the end results have been just as classy if not classier than more 'upscale' or 'older' choices.

I don't think your crazy. I love pink! I think it is a very classy color for a wedding and it also leaves the door wide open of different shades of pink. If you check out several TR or PJs lots of girls on the boards chose pink as their color.

I don't think you are crazy. But I had a very pink wedding. I added black and silver to it. I got so many compliments. And Mickey was everywhere, people loved it.

I had pink.....& Im not crazy

I think its fine the colors your doing...its all how you present it.

Dont let peoples "looks" affect you...its probably nothing & even if it was...not everyone has the same taste or they are envisioning it differently than what your gonna do.

go with your heart & GL

We would love to see the outcome!!

congrats

Thanks for all the support guys!:grouphug: DF and I have decided that using the pink, red and white all together is going to look too Valentines day-ish for us....and too girly. We've decided were going to keep the pink [because I want a pink bouqet, white because most of the castle things we want to use are white, and were taking away the red and changing it to navy blue [or midnight blue depending on which name you like lol:lmao:
I'm thinking my BM dress will be Navy with pink/white flowers
My dress will be white with pink Roses
The Groom and Groomsman will be in black/white tuxedos with possibly navy ties and white flowers....possibly navy ribbon on the butoinere?
Cake will have a white castle cake topper with pink/navy flowers twisted going down around the side
confetti will be pink white and navy using mickey head, tink and castle hole punch
and center pieces will be shallow glass bowls with navy marbles in them and pink/white flowers.....confetti will be sprinkled around the tables
Tables will have white linens with navy napkins and navy sashes tied around the chairs.........

Now my question is How Do all of you think this will look? I think it sounds good and I think the Navy adds an elegant look to it but id love some more opinions from you classy ladies! Thanks!:goodvibes

Navy would be pretty with pink, just make sure the shade of pink is a little darker to go with it okay and not totally overpower the pink. If you were thinking about a lighter shade of pink, IMO a light green is very pretty with pink.

Now I see best in colors and pictures so here is what I got for you.

Here are different shades of pink for a wedding

If you are shooting for a elegant look, here is pink and gold

When choosing my colors I Refered to this color wheel, it really breaks down color and the important part it plays to a wedding
Color Wheel

The only thing I wonder about is; Pink is more of a spring color and Navy is definatly a fall color because it is so deep and if I remember correctly, you are having a june wedding? If I were you, I would look online for other weddings and see what you like and what you don't like. If you would like help in researching I am more than willing to assist, just send me a PM.

One thing I have learned that hard way...once you make up your mind on the color, and start ordering and making stuff to accomodate that color scheme it is extremely difficult in changing everything.

One piece of advice that I am having a hard time to follow but I am sharing with you in hopes it can help you is...
Go with your heart. Match all pieces of your wedding stationery, favors, guest book, napkins, table clothes, etc. This will make your special day visually appealing and reflect your personal creativity. It's your special day!

EDIT: Sorry I forgot to add that on a quick search of your wedding colors I didn't find much but I will try and keep looking

Edit Edit: I am still working on pink and navy for you but I did run across this image

I really like the navy and pink together, a really pretty combination that I never would have thought of!

My only concern would be that maybe navy dresses could be a little dark for a summer wedding... but then again it depends on the style of the dresses.

That's true, you may want to think about the girls wearing pink. And hey, they guys don't have to wear pink if they dont' want to, they could wear the navy blue or something like that.

Lol thanks guys! I'm just making sure the colors don't clash.............i'm one of those women who don't believe the whole "season colors" stuff. I think all colors are good for all seasons and I have no problems using "winter" colors on my bridemaid for my "summer" wedding. I know my sister will pull off a navy dress with ease......she has golden blonde hair and it'll look wonderful! Thanks for the pink color scheme chart that was really cool to look at!:goodvibes
