we usually arrive at MCO around 9 AM but becasue we now come from the west coast, we are landing at 8:45 PM.

We are using ME and we really do not want to have to get our bags especially since the baggage claim for SW is on the opposite side of ME.

I know it says can take up to 3 hours for luggage to arrive at teh room so that puts us at around midnight...is that about right??

At that hour does it usually take a shorter amount of time than the 3 hours?

we need to have the luggage that night because I have to use my own sheets, plus shampoo, soap etc. becasue of allergies so we cant wait until morning for our luggage.

We are going to be at CBR...will they deliver our luggage to our room at midnight?

It can take up to 3-4 hours from resort check in for your bags to get to your room, which probably puts you closer to 1:00 a.m. And, yes, they will deliver your bags to your room in the middle of the night (at least at the moderate and deluxe resorts) unless you arrange to have them held until morning (and sometimes even if you do that). They may get there earlier, but for planning purposes expect a late night/early morning delivery and plan accordingly. It's always a good idea to have what you're going to need for the first 12 hours of your stay in carry-on bags anyway, as the airlines have been known to misplace a bag or two on occasion.

::yes:: Especially if there's more than one person traveling - the sheets and special toiletries can easily fit in one person's carry-on, and that person's personals (e.g. one night's clothing) can fit in someone else's carry-on if necessary.

Depends on how tired you are. If you think you are going to want to hit the bed before midnight, then I would either get the bags yourself, or pack what you need in the carryons.
Carryon bags can hold a lot of stuff...should be able to pack the sheets, toiletries (smaller amounts put into 3oz containers) and other neccesities into a bag of carryon size. I've managed to pack for a 4 day trip in a carryon bag. If each person takes one, you should be good to go.
If your flight arrives, on time, at 8:45, you aren't going to arrive at CBR until about 10pm...earliest. Disney/DME tells us that our bags can be expected up to 4 hrs after 'resort' checkin...which could put you at the 2am mark!!! More likely would be between midnight and 1am though. I would expect it to take them a few hours to get the bags to you.

I'm hoping that we will still be on california time so 1 AM will only feel like 10 PM for us.

For carryons I already have a 19" rolling suitcase that is ALL medication plus a nebulizer plus my dads CPAP machine plus sancks becaus ethere is very little I can eat at airports plus my computer plus anything else we need for the actual flight.
we have enough problems with security as it is....adding more stuff to our carryons is not an option.

I'm debating whether or not to maybe ship a box to the hotel a day early with as et of sheets, towels and a pillow just so we know its there

Maybe ship ahead???
OR
pack in another carry on....especially if it is Vital to your health! ;)
OR
pull your own luggage and then there is no issue at all....
Have a great trip!!

It may get to your resort but how quickly can they retrieve the box for you? If it's really important that you can't sleep until you get your sheets, I'd put them in a carry on.
fwiw, we are also arriving 8:45pm next week and plan to carry on everything we'll need for that night and the next morning. Our luggage can be delivered while we're enjoying MK. :cool1:

When I went to WDW this past November my flight arrived at 9:00 and I did not want to wait until after midnight for my bags.
I flew Southwest and I went and got my own luggage. It really was not as bad as I thought it would be.
Yes ME and SW are on opposite sides but the it was not far at all. I was surprised how simple it was. Also I was fortunate in that we did not have a long wait for the luggage, it came out rather quickly.
If you do not want to lug all of your suitcases. Pack on with all your essentials and do not put the yellow ME tag on it, but put the tags on the others.
This way the suitcase you want will not be pulled off the carousel, you can get it and take it over to ME with you.
