HI,
We are going to WDW Nov 10-19. We land at 7pm. Is it worth it to have ME drop off our bags in our room with that late of arrival especially since we will not have time to hit any of the parks. Not sure of the weather so we might not be able to take advantage of the pool. (Staying AsMu).
I'm thinking of hitting the food court then heading back to the room to wait for the bags.
In this situation would it be better to just go claim the bags ourselves since we are very likely just going to hang in our room and relax? We are two adults.

Thanks
Liz

I'd let ME handle the luggage so I could spend some time wandering around DTD that evening. Good way to ease into vacation mode.

I would get the bags with two adults. Even if you want to go to DTD you will first have to go to your hotel (as that is where the ME bus will drop you off) and at that later hour your room will definitely be available.

ME had my bags WAITING for me when I checked into my room.
My Xmas trip, I had to wait 3 hours.
I think I woudl suggest that you let ME bring the bags.

I'm arriving on Nov 29, at 7:20pm. I'm letting DME take care of the bags. We'll check in at AKL, then head directly to DTD to get our passes and something to eat..then to bed. We will have what we need for the night, just in case. Besided, we are moving over to BWV the next day...we probably won't even unpack any checked bags that night.

Why lug your bags when you don't have to? You'll have all your immediate needs in your carry-on luggage anyway. Let Magical Express handle your luggage.

Thanks for all your advice!!
One more question.
The 10th, my arrival day, is my birthday. Do you think I have any chance in "Hades" of using ME, getting to hotel, checking in then taking, I'm thinking a cab to Epcot (since it will be the only open park and a cab would be faster) to pick up my b-day credit ($75.00) or whatever it is.. Epcot is open until 9pm and I know if I don't get it at one of the parks I'll lose my b-day *gift* from Disney. If that happens I'll be just fine because just being there is a great gift, but if I could anyway make it to a park for the official stuff that would be great.
Anyone know which window to go to?

Thanks.. I know.. I might be better to ask this on the general board.
thanks again

I doubt you'll make it to Epcot in time. But, can you do that at Guest Services in DTD??? They're open very late.

Nope. Parks only. Why? Well, the actual intent is 'get in free on your birthday'. Guests arriving too late to enter a park can't then swap the perq for one of the substitutions.

eta: Also, it's only valid during hours the parks are open to the general public - not during EMH or special events/parties. I'd guess that's in fairness to all Guests.

Thanks Katieeldr,
I was worried about luggage arrival time when it hit me that I have to try and get my b-day gift card. If all goes like clockwork, we do online check-in and I have a few minutes I'll think of it as a challenge to grab a cab and see if I can get to epcot before closing. If not... well, no worries, I'm still in WDW on my b-day!!!! But it will for sure be time for a nice adult drink... um... or two if I do all that running around.
Happy B-day to me!:) It's going to be a great time!:goodvibes
