ME a day before reservations start

Hi, Everyone! I'm sure there is probably already an answer to this out there, but I didn't see anything in my quick search...

My Mom & Dad are joining us for the 1st part of our Disney vacation... There original plans were to come on Friday morning, but they just made their flight reservations, and decided to come down Thursday night, instead. When we tried to update their hotel reservations, there was nothing available with their package...

Can they still take ME to our hotel Thursday night and stay with us that night, and then check in to their room on Friday? Will there be any issues with ME since they don't have a reservation until the next day?

No they cannot UNLESS you add them to your reservation. If you have a package, you can add them after you check in and won't have to add package components. You would have to pay the extra adult fee for that one night.

Have you looked into booking them a room only reservation somewhere for that first night??

They will have a problem, I'm afraid.

You are eligible for DME (from MCO to WDW) anytime ON OR AFTER the start of your hotel reservation. It is not valid to take the day before it starts.

They could get a room only booking (hopefully with the nice discount recently released). That way they'd have their own room and they could use DME. Or, they could just pay for a MEARS shuttle and sneak into your room (I'm assuming that you aren't adding them to your reservation - if you are, they are eligible for DME).
