MDR Rotations

I was reading a passporter book and their theory is that DCL assigns the rotation based on how your party is composed adults only vs adults and older children vs adults and young children. Since we are adults only this time, I am reluctant to deviate. Not sure if their theory is correct, anyone know for sure?

That practice went out YEARS ago! Sadly the PP series tends to have incorrect information in every edition. Even when this was the rumored practice, we ended up with each rotation on the Magic over the years and our kids were 3 & 5 on our first cruise. We request head servers, and simply go with the flow of whichever rotation they are currently assigned to. It has worked well for us and we know that we will be assigned an incredible serving team and be well taken care of in the MDR.

I've not requested a rotation before, but we are on an Alaskan cruise in August and I've requested Animator's on the first night since it's my daughter's favorite and her birthday. We will see.
