I am confused, I admit. I keep seeing comments stating "do not link your MVMCP tickets to MDE". Can somebody please explain why and what the potential issue is?

I will have a 10-day hopper that I am converting to an AP on my first day in the park.

Yeah IDK why you wouldn't want that? I purchased mine online and it was automatically linked to MDE

Same. I had one that was tied and one that was not. Two parties. I did not have any issues. :confused3

I could be totally wrong, but I thought it had something to do with being able to book extra FP+. I thought a MVMCP ticket allows you to book FP+ from 4-7, but it won't if that ticket is linked to an MDE account that already has FP+ booked that day.

Again, I could be completely wrong...

Some guests have no trouble.
Some guests might.
If you don't mind the possibility of having the wrong ticket deducted from your MDE account
when you enter MK on your party day, then there's no cause to worry.

In the case of the OP, if you own an AP as the only other ticket in MDE, there's no problem.

That was my worry last year, as I had a party ticket and one with only 3 PH days left on my MDE. I wanted to link the ticket to get FP ahead of time for 4-7, so I got a hard ticket for the party and used that to enter the park, which solved my concern.

Am I understanding you correctly that a MVMCP ticket will allow you to book extra FPs? How would the FP+ system know you have that ticket if it is not entered in MDE? Now I am even more confused. LOL :rotfl2:

On a seperate MDE account. I've never done it, so I can't say for certain that this is how it works. Here are some screenshots of posts from fellow dissers:

Mine automatically linked to MDE last year and this year when I bought them. We had no issues. We also were able to book fp's between 4-7pm on the party day but we had our regular park hoppers in the system already that included the day we went to the party, so maybe that's why we had no issues getting fps.

Thanks for sharing. This is something I've never been clear on. So for clarity, did each guest in your party receive a total of 6 FP that day?

We didn't do a park until we went to MK later that day, so we scheduled our 3 fps as we would have on a normal day and scheduled them for between 4-7pm. Not sure how I would have been able to get 6. I'm confused about that now too lol!

Not in this case.
Three advance FP+ per day, per guest on MDE, regardless of how many tickets that you have assigned to you.

But, if you have two unique MDE accounts, you can get 6 FP+ per day, if you have two separate tickets.

So, if I'm going to MVMCP on my last day at WDW, and I use my regular pass for a different park earlier that day, it shouldn't be an issue, right? I'm not too worried about having FPs for the party--I would use my 3 FPs for whatever other park I go to that day. I guess the only potential issue would be if we decide that instead of using a park ticket that day we will save it for the following day and visit a park in the morning before our flight home that evening? And in that event, would it be better just to show the paper tickets at MVMCP?

1. Right.

2. Well, the flat plastic MVMCP ticket, yes.

Thanks SmithSmith. :) Honestly, for MVMCP, we do not even use the FPs. Most everything is a walk-on. I am not interested in skirting the rules, I was mostly curious about the glitch. I like having everything in one spot. It would go against my OCD personality to have two accounts to manager FPs from....especially when pulling the details on my phone. LOL

I don't have a plastic ticket--I chose the "print at home" option when I purchased it.

You likely can use the paper ticket at the MK gates for entry to the party.

Another method would be to stop by a Guest Relations and have the CM give you a plastic ticket.

One reason to get a plastic ticket is that if a guest had made FP+ reservation on their party day between 4PM and 7PM, and they did not have a Magic Band or other plastic RFID ticket, they could not access the FP+ entrance readers with a paper ticket.
