We have a Pop Century reservation for October 13 with dining plan.
Got a link and added it to MDE. ok

We have 7 days tickets park hoppers.
Got a link and added it to MDE. ok

The fastpass is open now through July 12.
Shouldn't it be closed and open only on August 13 (60 days) in advance of our stay?
is this a MDE bug? are we safe to wait til August 13 to book our FP+? I was so worried...

You can see 30 days in advance when you have any tickets linked.

It seemed to me that OP had separate tickets.
Yes, I just wanted to clarify that what you stated was only the case for those who have tickets that are not part of a package, not for everyone who has any ticket linked.

I'm guessing that the OP has previously booked a package and now thinks that there's a glitch in MDE because it's different this time.

I think it was a glitch. You should not be able to book fastpasses until the 60th day before your check in day. Does not matter if you bought tickets as part of package or not. It's where you stay, that gets you the 60 day, not 30 day for Disney hotels, and for this year, some off site Disney Spring Hotels, and Shades of Green. Since staying at POP, you get 60 days. I'm doing the same thing, room and dining plan, I'll buy my military ticket right before my fastpass window starts. 60 days before, and two weeks before you, OP, as we are coming in on October 1 to POP. My fastpass day is August 2.

My bad on the wording. I don't consider linked to mean packages. I never book them, either.

If you have stand alone tickets booked, you will have a for window open for 30 days. It is not a glance.

Not true. Stayed at FQ (a Disney hotel) in December, with room only and military tickets. 60 days for me. Again, it's where you are staying, not package or where buy tickets from.

From the FP sticky. Thank you, @mesaboy2

  • For onsite guests with a room/ticket package, the 60-day prebooking window will not appear until the 60-day mark. Before this point, it is normal for various members and/or their tickets to not appear on the MDX account. The entire traveling party and their tickets will appear at the 60-day mark in almost all cases. It is generally not possible to practice booking FPs beforehand in this situation.
  • For onsite guests with a room-only reservation, the 60-day prebooking window will not appear until the 60-day mark, assuming valid tickets are attached to the account. Before this point only a 30-day window (from the current day) will be active, again assuming valid tickets are attached to the account. It is possible to practice booking FPs using this 30-day window.

You get 60 days for an onsite trip when the time comes. You would have had a 30 day window from the time you linked your standalone tickets. Standalone tickets allow you to make FP+ arrangements for a visit earlier than your onsite trip.

No one is saying the standalone tickets will ONLY get 30 days. They will see that and once it's 60 days from their reservation they'll see that.

(this is hard to explain)

Before your 60 day window opened, you had a 30 day window that was opened (assuming that you linked your ticked more than 60 days before your onsite stay.)

If I buy and link tickets today, I will have a 30 day fastpass window. Everyone gets that. An onsite reservation is not required.
