MDE: do family members use the same log in info?

I have tried searching, and I fear this is a basic question, but I am fearful of creating a mess. So, everyone in my family has downloaded the MDE app, but have not yet used it. DO they log in with the same info as me?

I have been using it just trying to familiarize myself with Genie+.

We are going next week and my plan is to have someone else book SDD while I try to snag ROTR ILL.

Thanks for your help!

ETA: I have invited them and they show up in my party. It is just the screen that asks f or the log in info that is tripping me up

If they have their own MDE accounts and are linked to you in your MDE account, they log in with their own credentials and should be able to see everything that pertains to everyone in their F&F list and should also be able to book SDD for everyone in their F&F list who has the necessary tickets and park reservations.

If they do not have their own MDE accounts, yes, they log in with your credentials. That means they can do anything you can do, so be sure you trust them not to mess with ANYTHING!

During our last trip to Disney which included multiple families, we found the most direct way to handle things was to have everyone staying in the same room on a single MDE account. We didn't see any benefit to having multiple accounts for a given room and it made things like ADR's a LOT more complicated if you were to do that. We could then add the parties from the others rooms as 'friends' or whatever Disney calls it to make managing things less complicated. One person, for example, was able to make the ADR's for our entire group.

MDE is sometimes flaky in how things work which is true for most of Disney's IT applications. We had trouble on some of the accounts doing things that worked fine for others. If we couldn't get something to work, we found it faster to call Disney and let them figure it out instead of fiddling with the settings for hours on our own. Sometimes, even they couldn't explain why we had certain issues with only some of the accounts, but they were able to get them all straightened out. That is another reason to have fewer accounts so there is less to manage and/or setup. Make sure the person doing any updates knows what they are doing or they can easily delete ADR's creating a mess for everyone.

We do - but there are only 3 of us and we usually travel together, we all log in to my account with my password. My older dd does have her own account for when she travels without us but when we travel together it's easier for her to just use mine.

We also all logged in using my account info, it worked fine during thanksgiving.

I have a question about using 1 MDE account and getting separate dining reservations... There are 6 of us and I'm sure there are going to be times we might want to break off and 2 want one rest and go somewhere else. Can we split up like this if we only have 1 MDE account? I'm in the process of setting thip up now and trying to figure out pros and cons...

One person can not have more than one ADR at the same time, or even within the same window of time (I think 60 min or so)

I can't remember if it's possible for you as the MDE account owner can make an ADR for others in your party, without yourself being included. You could test this with any ADR right now. If you can, then you can share one account. If you can't you'll have to have those who want to eat together on another account.

Hopefully that makes sense

Yes, you can. Just make sure that the first ADR you make for a given date and time is for one you’re not a part of. When you get to the page that asks who will manage that ADR, put in the name of someone in that group. Then book the ADR you’ll be part of and leave your name as the responsible person. If you leave yourself as the person managing the first one, it won’t let you schedule another one for the same time.

Thank you!!!! I will make sure to reserve my reservation last.
