MDE App Problems? Possible Solution

I see that some people are complaining that the MDE app is not working quickly or not working at all while they are in the parks. I myself have not been yet so don't have first hand experience (I preface this because I don't know how my idea will work in the parks first hand).

My idea:
If you are having problems with the app instead of using it try using your phones Internet browser and accessing the MDE experience website that way. Accessing the site on your phone you can edit FP+ and all other plans just like on the app but perhaps it would be quicker.

Just type
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/my-disney-experience/
Or google search MDE and access it that way.

Hope this alleviates some of the frustration people are having with the app?!:confused3

I tried using both my browsers and Disney's while in the parks last week...both were equally bad. I wanted to check wait times....just wouldn't load quickly enough to be of any use!! I was at the attraction before MDE came up...way too many' network blips'!! Drove me nuts.
That is the one hugely negative thing I said on the survey I got a few days ago. Told Disney that the app was practically worthless while in the parks!! Now, I'm not sure they care either way..but at least I vented to them about it.

I've heard that using the park's wifi can be much slower than just using your own mobile data. Perhaps that's causing some of the problems?

I've been thinking that I would need to buy a used IPod Touch to use in the parks because I have a Windows phone. All I need to do is use the regular WDW site instead of the app? This is genius, and I would not have thought of it. What the heck does that say about me?
Thank you very much.

I take my iPad mini with me to the parks to take pictures AND so I'm not eating up my iPhone battery trying to use MDE. That way I can save my phone battery for communicating with my family. Before I started taking my iPad it seemed like I was always trying to find a place to recharge to keep my phone going. That also meant I was just sitting wasting precious park time while my phone was charging. Now my phone keeps a good charge and I can take pictures and use MDE without stress. I just take a gallon size ziplock in my backpack to keep it dry during wet rides or rain.

Another option that I enjoyed using on our trip a few ekes ago, was a gift my husband gave me. It is one of those small cylinder shaped phone chargers. It's about 3-4 inches long and about an inch I diameter. You charge for several hours and just slip it in your pocket with your charging cord. That way you can just charge anywhere and not be bound to a wall socket:)

You can also but battery extender cases like a Mophie that will almost double the life of your phone battery, but will bulk up the size of your phone.
