MDE App is Terrible!

Has anyone else had problems with the my Disney experience app? I’m trying to use the refresh strategy for fp and in a matter of 10 minutes the app crashed 10 times. The app is up to date, my phones software is up to date, deleted the app and redownloaded. Have tried on WiFi and off WiFi. This is SO frustrating!!

Yup. Since I updated it has been awful. Wont connect or update. I've been using chrome and the website and it works fine but destroys the battery

If you're trying to do the "refresh strategy" I would use the mobile browser, regardless of whether the app is functioning well or not. The browser lets you tap on the same time to reload new FP+ availability repeatedly, and loads the pages faster.

I don't hate the app as much as many people here do, but it is prone to being overloaded (both the app itself and the servers that it connects to), probably due to all of the different functions it has.

The android app also lets you tap the same time to refresh. I normally use the app until it continues to mess up, then I switch to the mobile site for a bit. One main reason I prefer the app is when there is an error in adding a FP that shows as available. With the site you simply lose it....with the app it allows you to try it again and that normally works.

I definitely had to use the mobile site more often on our last trip. When we were at DL last year the app was done most of the day! Lots of confused guests and paper fast passes.

We found the newer (more powerful processor) your phone (we have iPhones) the fewer MDE app problems. My Xs worked much better than our iPhone 6 or 7.

After the update I’ve had issues where every time I open the app it’s requiring me to sign in and then it just hangs on the signing in logo until I close and reopen it.

I have been having the same problem for almost a month now. Last year it was something different that was wrong. At least the website usually works.

The website isn't any better. I keep being directed back to the login page. I've tried Chrome and Firefox and multiple computers

The app was horrible the last week. Sometimes right on, sometimes would take 5 minutes to log in. We used the mobile site to get more fp, it worked much better.

Comes right up on my iPad but just spins on the sign in page on my iPhone. Been like that for weeks. Not gonna be helpful when I go as I do not carry my iPad around. Glad I did a printout

Again, and again, and again this issue pops up on this page. It's real. Disney has bad software designers, IMO. They can't keep the software working across all platforms in a great manner consistently.

I think its the problem of tech folks sometimes being so removed from being an average user - that they don't understand what happens to the every day person who doesn't update their phone software or their web browsers or simply has more dated equipment because they can't afford to update very frequently. Sure - it's a big system with a lot of users. But aren't they paid to understand the user experience? Isn't that what Disney is supposed to be about? I do some testing of new software updates as an end user as part of my job at work - and sure - I miss things on occasion. But I don't work for Disney and have the expectation set upon me that the user experience will always be perfect based on our branding of who we are.

I have an iPhone 6 - and wait for it - an iPad 2. Remember those? They work great for what I need on a daily basis and I try to keep the software updated. But man - on and off the stupid MDE stuff just doesn't work at all or spins forever on those devices. Thankfully, I do most of my hard core planning on a relatively new laptop and rarely run into issues. But it means that I frequently find my phone pretty useless in the parks themselves because the stupid app just won't run.

Lucky. I have a new XMax and it doesn't work more than it works

Just to warn you, the print out is likely to do you no good. Reason is, they have no way to know if you made those FP, printed them out and then changed the FP to something else. Yeah, people do that, trying to get 6 FP (or more) in a day.

In your case, if the app won't work use your web browser instead
