Dates of stay: Sun Feb 7th and Fri Feb 12th

Check in : Prompt and professional

Lobby and Common areas : Very clean, in excellent condition.

Service: Professional, prompt, courteous service from all stall at all times.

Room : Our first night we stayed in a 2 double bed room. The room was immaculate with pristine furnishings and a large flat panel TV. The beds were very comfortable (we sleep on an extra-firm pillowtop at home, I suspect these are similar). There were plenty of pillows and towels. The heating units make a very strange noise - plenty of whirring, clicking and buzzing too, but it was not enough to keep anyone in our family awake during the night.

The bathroom is a standard, small-sized hotel bath with single sink and full countertop. Typical amenities of soaps, shampoo and conditioner are provided.

Interestingly enough, this hotel does not provide a fridge or a mini-bar in their rooms (and obviously no microwave oven).

The fitness room looked immaculate and well-furnished and the pool was also clean and pleasant.

Shuttle to Airport: We requested a shuttle to BUF airport and we were the only occupants on both our trip to and from the airport. The shuttle was prompt and timely.

Parking: Ample, easy access. Free parking for the duration of our trip was provided.

Normally, my quickie reviews would wrap up at this point, but I wish to relate our interesting experience with this hotel on our return stay.

We landed on Friday evening, late (8:30pm) and requested a shuttle pickup. It arrived promptly. Our driver loaded our luggage and as we were enroute to the hotel, mentioned that THREE SPORTS TEAMS had checked in that very same evening. (I believe it was two hockey teams and a basketball team). In addition, the conference rooms were taken up by a formal dance! :scared1:

Upon arrival at the hotel, I approached the front desk and politely begged to be placed in a quiet room. The manager immediately informed me that we had been put on the 10th floor (the top concierge-service floor), well away from the sports teams and any possible disruptions. We were also informed that our room was a king bed suite, but were offered a rollaway for our daughter, which we accepted.

Once escorted to our room, the rollaway arrived within 5 minutes. To our delight, it was not a cheap fold-up camp bed with herniating springs; rather, it was a full twin bed, complete with solid frame, completely made up with sheets, blanket and extra pillow. 10 minutes later, we received a phone call from the front desk confirming the rollaway's arrival.

The room was a king suite: again, the furnishings were immaculate, the towels were thick and plentiful, and the amenities were even nicer (more potions and lotions, sewing kit, q-tips, etc in the bathroom; access to the business lounge on the 10th floor; a robe in the room, nicer larger room layout).

I now understand why the Amherst Marriott ranks as a 3.5 star hotel. It would have been all to easy to have been shoe-horned into a leftover room and disregarded, but the Marriott did not do this. Instead, they took care of all our concerns and removed any possible irritations before we could even voice them. We received two nights accommodation (one of them upgraded), free parking, and free shuttle service to and from the airport at an unbelievably low (Priceline) rate.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Amherst Marriott to anyone looking for a hotel in Buffalo.

Awesome review. We also booked this room through Priceline, because of Webworms wonderful advice. We will be there exactly 3 weeks from today. Thanks for the review, and I am now looking forward to our stay there as well!

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times a year, and have had nothing but exemplary service. We haven't tried the shuttle service to the airport yet, but it's part of the plan for our summer trip to WDW.

On our last visit we were also upgraded to concierge, which was a very nice and unexpected perq.
