One adult & two kids (8 & 5). Need info. on best type & cost of trans. to All Stars. Then, it will be adult only heading back to the airport after 10 days. (No, not leaving the kids in the parks! )
Could y'all give me info. on taxi vs. towncar (all companies) vs. buses, etc.
Thank you.

Stay away from Mears.
check out some of the other threads about them.
Usually lots of delays, going to all the other resorts first.
We used them in Aug03 and it was a mess.
Waited at MCO in line to get voucher issued for 30 mins.
Waited at MCO for bus to come for 30 mins.
On bus, driver is rude. Doesnt smile or have anything nice to say.
Pakced in there like very intimate sardines....
First stop. CBR.....2nd stop BCV....3rd stop CSR....4th stop finally All Star Sports. Jerk didnt even make announcements for them.

Tiffany Towncars usually gets the highest compliments from what I have read..

I would be using them in March but we are driving down.:cool1:

I'm definitely not a "shuttle person." We used to use Mears when we first started visiting Disney World, but then we learned about towncars and immediately made the switch. I always hated being crowded in with lots of other people and making multiple stops on the way. Now we use Happy Limo to WDW and to our Disney cruises. They have a coupon rate, as do many of the others, and they've always give us great service. I think you will happiest if you go with a towncar. It will be cheaper than a taxi.

We have used shuttles; rented cars, taken cabs. But now we prefer to use FL Tours for our transportation. Andy is a wonderful guy who will see to it you are taken care of.

FL Tours is the official transportation company of the DIS and by using them we are supporting these boards. I know that I would be lost when it comes to my Disney planning without these boards.

Go to www.fltours.com/reservations.htm and fill out a request, you will see pricing before you ever have to submit the request for a reservation

I have to fly home for 3 days in the middle of our family vacation.

You can pick up a Lynx bus ( www.golynx.com) at the TTC. 1st bus out is 7:18 am You catch Rt 50 to the downtown main bus terminal and than catch either Rt 11 or Rt 51 to the airport. Total travel time 1 1/2 hrs. Cost $1.35 and you need one transfer (free) .

TTC buses run to the main bus station every 30 min from 7:18 am to 10:18 pm.

Main bus terminal to the airport runs 4:45 am to 10:45 pm every 30 min.

Airport ( Landside A , level 1) to the main bus terminal runs 5:25 am to 11:30 pm every 30 min.

Main bus terminal to the TTC runs 6:15 am to 9:15 pm every 30 min.

My experience with Mears was they were the cheapest ( $17 one way) but the driver was complaining the whole time that people don't tip him enough and he was driving way too fast.

The Mears van also made several stops and I was picked up at 4:30 am for a 8 am flight. Shuttle travel time was 30-45 min.

My son and I used Mears in August 2001 to go from All Star Sports to MCO. We didn't stop at any other resorts. The driver was was very friendly. He played trivia games with the kids and gave them prizes.

We were on a bus, so everyone had plenty of room. The only thing I didn't like is that they picked us up 3 hours before our flight.:( Other than that they were fine.

I look at Mears as public transportation. I know up front that I may have to wait, and that our resort may be the last one that we get to. I wouldn't care if the driver didn't talk or play games. As long as he gets us from point A to point B in one piece, I'm happy.

Since there only two people in my family, Mears is the better deal for us.
