I realize it could vary but I'm just wanting a general idea of how long it usually takes to get to your on-site resort from MCO using ME.
How long do you usually have to wait until you actually leave the airport? & how long from the airport to the resorts?
Also, how far is the ME location from the airline gates, specifically SW's gates?
TIA!!! I'm trying to figure out an ADR for dinner & trying to determine a time.

Four trips and they have ranged from 60 minutes to about 1 3/4 hours (60 minutes included no line to check in for ME, walking through the lines, getting right on a bus and the bus leaving as soon as we sat down - talk about timing :worship:) . That is from the AirTran gates to Pop or CBR depending on the trip. The fastest trip was to Pop where we were the first stop.

There is no set schedule for the buses. Buses are loaded and dispatched as they are filled or are full enough based on the expected number and timing of guest arrivals.

In general, expect that DME will get you to your resort 60-90 minutes after you get off of the plane IF you use the DME luggage transfer service or have only carry-on bags. If you collect your own luggage add at least 20 minutes to those times.

But, I agree that using two hours for planning purposes probably is a good idea as it helps account for typical flight delays and other miscellaneous stuff.

Yeah, we always plan on it taking 2 hours, but it hasn't taken any longer than 90 minutes for us. In fact our trip last month took about 65 minutes, and that was with sitting on the bus for 15 minutes before we left the airport, and AS Music was the second stop.

SW is on Side A of MCO...DME is on Side B. As long as you don't plan on getting your own checked bags, you'll be fine. Here's a breakdown of times...

gate to DME checkin area.....10-15 mins, depends on how quickly you get the tram and the size of the crowd you have to weave through.

at DME checkin...0-10 mins, but usually closer to 0 as long as you have your vouchers in hand and they are correct.

over to bus lines....2 mins, here they will scan your vouchers and ask about the number of bags you have.

in the bus line.....1-20 mins, depending on when the bus for your resort left prior to your arrival.

on the bus....0-20, depending on how many other guests are already on the bus.

ride to WDW....25-40 mins, depends on which number stop you are.

I have had times as short as 55 mins and once it was 85 mins. The vast majority of times it is in the area of 70-75 mins total.

Now...if you are planning on getting your own bags at baggage claim, you need to add another 25 mins or so. Why?? Because once you get off the tram at the main terminal, you have to go over to the Side A escalators and go down to level 2 (you arrived on level 1) and get your bags. Then, back up to level 1 of Side A, cross over to Side B and go down to level 3 (ground transportation and DME). It's a hassle to have to do that. I would strongly recommend tagging your checked bags and allowing DME to take care of them for you.

I usually like to allow 3 hrs total time before making an ADR. SO, if I arrive at the gate at 1:30pm, I won't make any ADRs before 4:30pm, more likely to be after 5pm.
