MCO Social Distancing

Can anyone talk about the social distancing (or lack thereof) they are witnessing at MCO? Has the airport been exceptionally busy, business as usual, or emptier than usual? I'm just trying to manage expectations before arriving in Orlando.

On a recent trip, I was in Portland, Seattle, Denver, and Orlando airports. The only one that had social distancing markers and guidance in the gate areas was Portland. We had to move a few times when people with mask off or nose hanging out chose to sit right next to us. All airports required masks and I don't think mask usage was any better or worse at any airport.

I work out of MCO. Although there is not much in the way of distancing, I will say 99% are wearing masks. It is an Orange County rule. I really would not worry about it.

It is not as busy as usual, but it is also not a ghost town. We arrived in Orlando on the 9th, and it was not crowded. People keep their distance as much (or little) at the airport as in other public places these days. At baggage claim, people were careful not to crowd around each other. That is one change I noticed.

I am actually more worried about PHL than MCO. MCO is so big and open that even pre Covid, my family usually was able to spread out far away from people and keep to ourselves. We have discussed with our kids that we will expect to socially distant and not rely on others to be as courteous so it may mean us having to get up and move from time to time.
