We've just been reading a very interesting item by UKDEB about changes to this airport.

How do you get from side B level 3 down to side A level 2 to collect your bags?
How do you get down to side A level 1 and find the Disney Welcome Centre?

Anyone??:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

What/where are the changes to MCO that you have read about? :confused3

VA checkin desk is now on the A side rather than the B side as it had been for years. I also think that the second baggage reclaim is now on A side.

Claire ;)

Ahh so we are not the only ones to find out about the changes a month after they came in. Just that we thought you couldn't cross the baggage claim hall from one side to the other or can you via the lifts/escalators from level 3? Am I correct in thinking VA now have their bags sent to A side baggage claim 10 instead of side B baggage claim 27? From baggage claim how do you find the DWC?
Sorry been reading the forums on http://www.v-flyers.com

Not heard of the DWC before, but considering alot of US carriers use A side then surely there would be a DWC there?

Claire ;)

:thumbsup2 :lmao: Sorry DWC means Disney Welcome Centre :lmao: and I'm hoping there will be one there so we can get ME to our hotel:thumbsup2

A and B are 2 sides of the same terminal, you just take the appropriate escalators down to reclaim when you get off the monorail - you can now take luggage onto the monorail as long as you only have 1 case/1 hand luggage each.;)
Check in is now on A side too. The VA site has still not updated!

I am soooo confused about this airport thing, all i can remember from last year was we followed everyone else. Do you mean when you gt to the main area instead of going left you go right to get your bags?

We do that - but then i always panic about us being the ones that are leading everone:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

UPDATE I just found the link on the Disney website it states that if MCO is your first port of entry into the USA you follow the US Customs & Border Protection process and claim your luggage on disembarking the plane. Once that process is complete you give back your luggage to the airport officials and proceed to the Disney Welcome Centre in the Main terminal building on B side level 1. The bags will then be transferred to the baggage claim where Disney will pick them up. So once we've checked in to the Welcome Centre we should be able to get ME to our hotel and the bags should follow soon after (approximately 3-4 hours). I think I'm having a blond morning (not just a moment) please forgive me.

No need to worry. When we got to MCO last week we were met just after Customs by a Virgin rep who gave us a slip of paper telling us where we needed to go. There are also plenty of signs pointing the way to Virgin baggage reclaim when you get off the monorail.

Don't worry - US immigration won't let you get lost! After going through customs you take an escalator to the shuttle, then cross the hall to baggage reclaim on 'A' side. On your return, Virgin ckeckin is on 'A' side. (BA remains on 'B' side)

Thanks everyone, I keep getting the feeling they will change it all again before we go though. Here's hoping they sort themselves out before then.
