Is there any way to distinguish these 2 hotels on Hotwire? They're both 3.5*, and seem to maybe have the same amenities listed now. Previous information was that the Hyatt listed Tennis, but more recent reports indicate it does not. And according to betterbidding.com, they both now have the same 6 amenities listed: Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. I'm seeing a 3.5* with these amenities show up practically all the time, in the range of $63-$90, and my suspicion is that this is the Renaissance, not the Hyatt. Does anyone know if there's a way to know for sure?

Also, in searching for Packages with Hotel and Car, I do see Hyatt show up (name is listed in this case), and I also see Renaissance, and amentities listed are in fact the same. I only want 1 night Hotel, and I want Hyatt. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I was watching Hotwire for the Hyatt as well and was not comfortable with which 3.5 it was. I guess I would have been happy with either, but really wanted the Hyatt.

I was fortunate and saw that someone had posted on biddingfortravel that they had won the Hyatt for the same night as we needed it so I bid the $45 and received the Hyatt...then a few more people started posting their Hyatt bids so I got brave and bid again for the night before our return flight and got the Hyatt again. I was sooo happy!

GOOD LUCK

Last year, we had our computer with us and I was able to snag the Hyatt on Hotwire because of the tennis amenity.

Now, I'm playing this little game of pulling it up every day, checking on betterbidding and biddingfortravel and still haven't taken the plunge. We're leaving on Saturday. We're taking our computer with us and I'll try at the last minute to see if my chances improve. Hope you have success. :thumbsup2

I wish I could lend some sound advice. I am a total newbie to bidding. I just bid on Hotwire recently and was also hoping for the Hyatt but got the Renaissance. These were the details of my bid before I actually placed it :

Pool(s)
Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal.

Restaurant(s)
Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary.

I bid $59 for this room....came to $73 after tax. Cheapest I could have gotten going through Rennaisance website would have been $137 after tax. So I'm happy but would have been happier if it had been the Hyatt (that's going for $199 for my dates directly from Hyatt). There is a 24 hour complimentary shuttle to and from hotel to airport.

Thanks for the responses. I guess at this point it sounds like it's pretty much a game of chance, unfortunatley. Is it safe to assume that it's highly unlikely that the Hyatt will be posted months in advance? Have those that have gotten it gotten it at the last minute? There is a 3.5* posted for months out from now, but I just feel like it's probably the Renaissance.

I can't help you with the determination, but we have stayed at the Renaissance (won through Priceline) and were VERY happy with the property. We landed at MCO around 11pm. We collected our bags, called them from the Courtesy phone bank at MCO, and our shuttle was there within 5 minutes. LITERALLY. We were to the hotel in another 5-10 minutes, and in bed by midnight.

I'd be pleased with either hotel.

Thanks -- yes, I'm sure we'd be fine in either hotel. Actually, the thing I like best about the Hyatt is that we can leave our bags outside the door in the morning for DCL and they handle them all the way until we find them later in our stateroom. I just like the feeling that our DCL vacation really starts as soon as we're in that hotel room! I know, it's a relatively minor point, and probably not worth the extra $$ in the end, but I just like the whole package!! Oh, and we will be arriving at MCO after midnight, so the convenience of the hotel right there is also a bit of a factor.
