Any recommendations for a hotel close to the airport for a late flight in (1am). My original plan was to stay at the Hyatt as we have in years past, but the $400 price tag has me rethinking that plan. I would MUCH rather spend my money in the parks!

Call the local number for the hotel. 24 hour complementary shuttle service is history. 1 am, you might wind up having to pay for ride share.

In my humble opinion, rent a car (24 hour rental cars for most companies) @ MCO - they can still be had very reasonably if you search for deals. If that option works for your plans, you can add a night and check in around 2am, or stay at any number of options once you have your own transportation...

We would be renting a car regardless. We have done the late flight and check in DVC previously in trips past and it just makes for a long day of work/school/travel. Was thinking of just getting something close to airport for arrival night.

Mamalou1977, 1am arrival after a long day, Hyatt at MCO is a perfect place, just go and sleep, wake up and start your vacation fresh the next morning.

Yes; that is what we have done in the past. Looking for an option less than $450 which the rate is this particular night.

We ended up staying by the airport earlier this year for two nights before a Disney trip. One night we stayed at the sleep inn, the next we stayed at the la Quinta inn and suites. We liked the room better at the sleep inn, but liked the location of the la Quinta inn better. They were both pretty well priced.

La Quinta was closer to the airport (it was only a couple minutes away). The area was quiet. Other hotels and restaurants right by. The room seemed a little run down though. Big stains on the carpet and some things around the room just made it feel like it wasn’t cleaned the best.

The sleep inn was a little further away and it was just in the middle of everything and not in a good way. Very congested right in front of the hotel. Seemed like a little shadier of an area for some reason too. However the room seemed cleaner and it was a little cheaper.

The La Quinta seemed more recently updated but as I said it also seemed a little more run down which was an odd mix. If I were in the area again I’d probably try the La Quinta and give it another shot and hope our room was a one off.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn @ Gateway Village; one night before our trip to Belize and one night after.
5460 Gateway Village Cir, Orlando
(make sure you are looking at that Hampton inn, and not the other one on TG Lee; that one seemed more 'sketchy' than the one on Gateway)

One of the elevators was a bit trippy, the other one worked fine. We had a studio king suite for the night before, and it was huge; and a king the night after, and it was still pretty big, just less seating area. Very clean, and it was pretty quiet (we asked for a quiet room both times). Our first night was about $150 and the second was $25 because DH had points to spend from work travel.

We did not use their breakfast, or any amenities, so can't comment on that. They do have a free airport/cruise terminal shuttle, but we had our own car, so can't comment on how that works. Free parking, though.

The first stay, we walked across the parking lot to BoneFish Grill, and there are few different places in that area.

Our plane arrived about 10pm, and we went to find food about 10:30. The only places that were open for food were Denny's and Ihop...and both were on a 3 hour wait...just didn't have enough staff to deal with the late night crowd. We ended up eating from the convenience area at the hotel; hot pockets and mini pizzas.

Home2 Suites or Homewood Suites. Both are off Semoran Blvd (I think that's the north exit from the airport) at Hazeltine, maybe a 5 minute drive. Hilton properties, both had free parking and free breakfast, as well as sofa bed and kitchen in the room. Stayed there in early Nov. 2022.
