On Wednesday,I went to a kiosk to get my rental car. The price quote that I had was 290.00. The kiosk had a few screens asking if I wanted a variety of coverages that they offered. Repeatedly,I pressed no. Finally,a screen came up and I pressed again no coverage needed. The final total was 490!! So,I didn't complete the transaction. I went to an agent and told her the problem. She asked me what coverage I had chosen. I was polite and told her that I don't need it and hadn't chosen any. She said that the machine must be messed up because this had happened a few times recently. Be careful and don't finalize your transaction until you check the total.

I just had a very bad experience with those machines too. And I'm pretty computer literate. That program is not ready for general use yet, IMO. Be careful - it does not let you input your frequent flyer account information. I was told they could enter it when I returned the car, but I wasn't about to take the chance. That was not my only problem - I also had trouble with the extras it tries to add on. The employee who was trying to "help" people use the machines was also very rude. It really gave me a bad impression of Alamo.
