I heard that there was a McD's near the All-Star resorts? How close is it? Can you walk to it?

I'm pretty sure I've read on here that it is too far to walk and there are no walkways.

Look at Google Maps.. there is in fact a sidewalk.. and crosswalk lights..

And it's about 1/4 to 1/3 of a mile walk. Leads you right to McDonalds from any of the All Stars.

People often want to walk from Pop to different places that are nearby.. but over there .. no sidewalks, no cross lights etc. AND it's far from Pop to ANYWHERE but CBR.

That's what I had heard. DH wonders what their prices are like.

It depends which all-stars you are staying at. ASMo is the furtherest, then ASMU, last and closest to Mcd's is ASSp. Another thing we didn't realize was that Mcd's in disneyworld is alot more expensive then a normal Mcd's.

Well.. a Quarter Pounder Value Meal was about 6$ and change before tax backin June if I remember right.

So about a 25% ~ 35% premium over your local McDonalds depending on where you live.

Of course if you live in Manhattan, then it's a 12% decrease in MickeyD pricing.:rotfl:

Here are some pics of the McDonald's. Don't know about walking to it. No help there.

Forget that idea. I'l stick with the DDP.
I really don't think you would be saving by going to Mcd's. We thought it would be cheaper for our extra night w/o DDP but it was about $10 more then eating at the Land:confused3.

I believe it is a pretty reasonable walk from the All-Stars (especially Sports). As someone mentioned, the prices are on the expensive side for McD's. Since we are in Canada, McD in the USA has different menu items. It was enjoyable for DH and I try out that huge breakfast platter with those tastey biscuits. I also thought the jams in the 'ketchup packets' were cute. I've never seen anything like that in Toronto before.

We went in there and I looked over the menu and didn't see Sausage Gravy and Bisquits. I asked the girl behind counter about it and she looked at me like I was an alien.:confused3 How does a deep south
McD's not have sausage gravy and bisquits?:rotfl2: I was truly dissapointed.

A walk is very doable if you are feeling up to it. ASSports would be closest...

We just got back last week and my kids oogled that McD's everyday as we passed it in the bus to the parks. We finally took them there the night we left for home. It was a let-down... I think they were expecting a big Playground from the looks of the outside. The prices were a bit steeper, but not much more than we pay at home... I think the Quarter Pounder meal I got was 6.59. Of course, we never eat McD's, so maybe it is considerably less... :confused3

Come on up to see me in South Carolina and you'll get your biscuits and gravy.. Grits, too, if you want 'em. I don't think Florida is all that Southern... Not many people in that area seem to be locally born and bred.

Speaking as someone who once lived in south florida - you must understand that everything south of tampa/orlando area is most definitely northern in personality. It is mostly populated by transplants from places like NY, MI, OH and Canada. No biscuits and gravy, no sweet tea, no grits and no collared greens!

In fact, those of us in southern florida often referred to northern florida (i.e. north of orlando) as "south georgia" - that is where you will find the deep south of Florida.

If it were twice as expensive, we'd still go to McD's during our trip because my son has Aspergers and one of his biggest "symptoms" is texture aversion that affects what he will eat. McD's cheeseburgers are one of the few things he will readily eat. Thank goodness he has one option that seems to be readily available no matter where on earth we are. ;) And after paying London prices with the terrible exchange rate, the "Disney exchange rate" seems like a deal. ;) (nothing like hauling your cookies from a 5-star hotel in London all the way down Park Lane to get a Happy Meal ;))

if you get just the meat - it is only a few cents more.

just don't get the Value meal.

either it take it back to your resort to eat - so you can use your refillable mug.

or order water there.

the fries are expensive!

When we first went there, we were shocked at the total. I thought to myself "Sheesh, Florida must have one heck of a tax rate". Turns out it's just this McD's on WDW property. Needless to say that i only stop there to pick up coffee or if the DD is really hungry for a Happy Meal nuggets as a quick snack.

BTW Knox, where are you staying at during your upcoming trip?
