My SIL and in-laws raved out these shoes this weekend. I looked today and the shoes average $250/pair!!! I often pay $100 per pair, but this is too much!! Do these shoes really do as advertised -- ie...less back pain, firm up you stomach, butt and thighs, etc....maybe I would consider buying them online someplace cheaper.

Those that have them -- are they worth the money? Thanks!

I don't have them but the nurse at work will wear nothing else. I have also talked to a few other beople that have them. One person bought them on a site that keeps track of prices on a lot of sites. I am sure someone here will know it. Our nurse said it has done wonders for her back pain and firmed up her thighs. She let me borrow them and they were really confortable but took a bit of getting use to. I couldn't believe how I felt it my thighs. Out of my price range right now.

I have wanted to try a pair out but they are too expensive for me to spend on shoes!

$250 for a pair of shoes???? $100 for a pair of shoes??? Crazy!! I won't spend more then $50 max......and usually I'm right around $30 or so.....

I believe Skechers makes a shoe similar to them. The Shape Ups style.

KMart also makes a shoe too - the Therashoe.

I cannot see spending $200+ on a pair of shoes, so I went to KMart and got their style.

I can tell a difference. My calves seem more tight (I have been wearing the shoes daily for a month) and you do have to work more to balance your body while wearing them.

I wore them for 12 hours yesterday and while at a pro football game, and YOW! my feet hurt at the end of the day for standing so long!!

If you are interested in them, get the cheaper KMart pair to see if you like them before you shell out $200+ on the "real" pair. You can look up the KMart type at therashoe.com .

I have these, but for my plantar fasciitis problems. My podiatrist highly recommended them. They are much more comfortable for me and now I can't stand "flat" shoes. I really can't speak to the back and thighs since mostly I wear just one of the shoes and have my Cam Walker on the other foot. Even when I do where both of them I am not on my feet enough to know if they are doing anything.

They do take a little time to get used to, and are a bit different from the normal. And frankly, I think they are really ugly! But I had to give up on fashion a long time ago.

Reebok also makes the EasyTone now for around $99. I don't know about back pain, but supposedly they help with the butt and thighs. I haven't tried them, but if I could get them for cheaper I'd give them a try. They are shaped like regular sneakers, not the "rockers" MBTs have.

The MBTs look cool but they seem like they would be unsteady.

They aren't unsteady, but they do take a few days to get used to. And you do have to be careful about making really quick turns--like if you tried to quickly turn to see who was behind you. When I am wearing them you will see me rocking in them when I am standing still!

Won't be getting those then! I have my knee replaced and while I can walk, I can't do many things like run. My knee is really developed now (my muscles atrophied so much) but my knee still "locks" and I'll fall. I've learned how to catch myself but it doesn't always work.

Thanks for all your help -- I've been looking online and found a few sale ones that I might try. My feet have really been killing me lately.

I have the Skechers Shape Ups and I love, love, love them. I have noticed some toning in my calfs and thighs, but aside from that the shoes are soooo comfortable. Shape Ups run about $115 but JCPenney has had them for as low as $79.

I got mine from Avon. They had both sneakers and sandals at the time, although the last I saw they just had the sandals. It'd be worth contacting an Avon rep to find out, I think. (Sandals were $30 and Sneakers for $40. And they feel just like the skechers!)
