We bought our own Magic Bands this past weekend on our first visit, and those are linked to my MDE account. We're thinking of buying AP's now, would we get new bands or would the AP's get linked to the bands we already have on the account?

Nothing is ever linked directly to your bands.

Your tickets (or AP) are linked to your MDE account. Your bands are used to access your MDE account. You will not need another band.

If you do get another band - either because you get one with an onsite reservation or you choose to buy one - you will be able to use it interchangeably with the one you have now.

You will get new bands along with your AP discount card. Your AP's will then be linked to any MagicBand attached to your MDE account.

Once you purchase your AP, simply go into your MDE account to link the tickets to each person and customize your new bands. Might as well pick another color so you will have two that will both work with your tickets!

Yes. You will get new bands wafter you purchase your APs

Ap bands can be customized and then sent after the APs are activated. So that means after your first visit with them. The bands will then show on your MDE account to be sent to you.

And they will be interchangeable with the other bands on your MDE.
