MB and gift cards

Hi everyone, we are planning our upcoming trip to the world and will be using our MB for the first time. Can you buy a gift card and attach it to the band instead of a credit card? If we are staying at a resort, can they do do it?

You can use the Gift Card to apply to your account to decrease the balance. It cannot be connected to your account in lieu of a credit card.

We were at ASMu the first week of January and we asked about adding our $400 worth of Disney Gift Cards as a credit. The girl behind the counter said 'We usually don't do that, but I'll do it for you'. It worked like a charm with the MBs--declining balance as we went along, then my mom's CC was charged when it ran out.

I suppose it depends on who you're talking to at check-in.

Applying a card to the account is a fantastic idea! What happens if it is not all spent?

I would love to be able to have an account setup that's related to my MB essentially, so I can just associate gift cards to it, rather than having to go back an pay down the balance I've charged up, and then have the CC associated once the balance is gone from the GCs. To me, that would be a lot easier.

The unspent balance is then applied back to the Gift Card. You'll need to keep the gift cards until your room charges are settled.
