Maybe it's not too late...

I hope not, anyway.

I finally found a forum (anyone been to gardenweb.com ? Pretty handy resource!) that has posts specifically on the same problem I'm having with my geraniums. The usual answer is we're overwatering (we being me and the guy who posted the question). I'm also not dead-heading properly, and I was interpreting over-watering as getting too much sun.

So.

I've moved the geraniums out to the railing along with the bluebonnets...

I won't water them again for several days since I just gave them a good dousing tonight...

I need to borrow my dad's drill (I don't think we have one) and drill a better drainage hole in the bottom of one of the pots. The other is in a hanging pot so drains well.

And hopefully it's not too late. It may be too late for my white one, but we'll see...

At least everything else on the back porch so far is doing well ;)

Rajah - I'm glad you found a forum that helped you. Your site (www.gardenweb) is the site where I found the forum with the local group of people having a plant swap in my area (I just posted about it under another thread). Isn't that funny!!:D I don't know how I originally came across the site but I nearly fell on the floor when I read this post of yours. What a small (internet) world it is!!

It is amazing isn't it?! You can find out just about anything you ever wanted to know about. I have always found the folks here to be wonderful helps too. Thanks to suggestions here.... I managed to pull a sickly rose from the duldrums into a vibrant state of health again.

I noticed new buds on the white geranium this afternoon! I was about to give up on it, but the leaves are still green so...

I was also about to give up and throw the hydrangia away, but when I looked at the state of the *leaves* instead of the petals...the leaves are perfectly healthy. Why waste a perfectly good green plant just because it's not blooming right now? So we'll see if that one comes out of it, too, and blooms again :)

Sending pixie dust to Rajah's hydrangea!

My geraniums are perking up! I noticed two new red flowers opening on the red geranium and a lot of buds (but I've had a lot of buds that didn't open at all on that plant), and several new flowers on my white one!

Still no sign of flowers from the hydrangia but it is a nice green plant. :)
