We were on the
DDP when we stayed at CSR in May 2006 and ate at the Maya Grill one night. We had an ADR for later, but were tired and hungry so showed up about 1 1/2 hours early. We were seated in an almost empty restaurant and had a wonderful server all to ourselves. He did not hover, but had our glasses refilled before they got even half empty. We asked if there was any limitations with the DDP and he assured us we could order anything on the menu. We ordered something I believe called the Mixed Grill. If you order it, make sure you have someone to share it with. My mom and I each ordered one. Big mistake! I know our eyes got as big as saucers when he brought out those HUGE platters. It came with fish, ribs, filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and grilled vegetables. We assumed when we ordered it that they would be small portions of meat. WRONG!!! That fish was thick and at least 8"x4", the filet was good sized, and we got a whole rack of ribs, about a cup of grilled vegetables, and my mom swore we had at least five lbs of potatoes. To this day we still laugh about that humongous serving of mashed potatoes. No way one person could eat that much. Everything was very good, but we barely made a dent in that huge platter of food. We were too full for dessert, but the waiter insisted on boxing something up for us "for later". Anyway, the entrees and desserts were delicious, but we were not so impressed with the appetizers. They were just OK.
My mom is going back with us this Sept and the only places she has requested is Le Cellier and "the place that gave us the five lbs of mashed potatoes and all that meat".
