For our next trip I'm looking into dining at some restaurants we've never eaten at and checked the menus for Maya Grill and Grand Floridian Cafe. What's on the menu now (and I know that's subject to change!) looks good, but I've been searching for reviews on these restaurants and find them rather sparse on these boards, especially compared to popular places like Le Cellier and Ohana!

Some of the reviews I did find were older, but I was wondering if people who ate there recently would post their experiences here. I was hoping dining spots like these might be a bit quieter, especially than character buffets! :lmao:

Also, we haven't been to Coronado since a look/see quite some years ago, and I thought dining at Maya might be a good excuse to visit again.

well....i didnt "personally" eat at the Maya Grill, but my dad & his wife did & they LOVED it!!!!!

I wanted to try it, but DHs parents wanted the cheaper opitions...so it was pepper market most of the trip;)

We ate at both last October. Both were quiet - Maya being a very quite restaurant. The meals were good, not outstanding but good enough that we will be returning to Grand Floridian Cafe this summer. Service at Maya wasn't exactly too attentive but not bad.

DD19 and I were at WDW January 12-19 2008 and we ate at the Grand Foridian Cafe for dinner. We have not eaten there on our previous trips.

DD ordered the prime rib and I had the salmon. Both were cooked exactly as we requested. We loved the food and service.

The only negative was a parent that brought her young child in for dinner and he did nothing but screech and climb the walls (literally). They should have eaten at McDonalds since that was more in line with his level of manners. They disturbed numerous diners.

Not the fault of the GF Cafe as this can/does happen. The fault lies with the uncaring parent.

We ate at Maya in may of 2007...we loved the food and the service was great too. It did not really feel "disney like"...we thought the decor was on the subtle side, but that never keeps me from eating at a restaurant with great food :lmao: Oh yeah...and Maya was defiantly much quieter than any of the character meals (or even ohana, tonys, etc.)

We ate at Maya Grill in 2006. The food was great, but the service was very slow.

Thank you everyone who posted, I was starting to wonder if anyone ever ate at these restaurants. We'd just like to try some new places, and don't need character meals, so this sounds like what we might be interested in.
