Who is going the week of May 17th? Is this a good time to go?

We'll be there from the 18th through the 29th. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge around the same time three years ago, and it was very nice. The lines were very manageable and the weather was great. The parks were open late at night too. This time, Memorial Day weekend is early (5/23-5/25), and we are going to hit that in the middle of our trip. That will be peak time, and no fun. We are thinking that we might skip the parks on those days (or just go for early hours and enjoy the campground for the rest of the day).

Howdy neighbor (from Hoover, AL)!:thumbsup2

Mid-May is a great time to go. It's warm but not hot usually and not yet in that every-day-afternoon-thundershower pattern.

It's not quite Memorial Day weekend so the crowds are down. From your pix if you have little ones travelling off-season (not spring break, peak summer, or thanksgiving/christmas) is ideal. :worship:

Enjoy and Roll Tide!

The last time I went to WDW, it was the week before Memorial Day weekend, and it was wonderful. The weather was perfect...warm but not hot during the day and comfortable at night. As a previous poster said, you're not quite in the season for afternoon storms yet, and we saw very little rain. Just enough to give us an excuse to ride a few indoor rides. That experience is why we chose to head down in May again in 2009. We'll be there from the 13th through the 18th, and we're very excited. :cool1:

I know you and your family will have an incredible time. :goodvibes

May, May, May?????

Gee that's one month I haven't been to the Fort! August either!

I think May would be a good month though.........

We will be at the fort May 18-27 next year. Before kids(19 years ago) we used to go in May and the weather was great. Then kids(twin boys) came along and we could only go during the summer months when they were out of school. Now they are in college, but they get out earlier than the regular school season and we are heading back in May. People are always surprised when I say that my 19 year olds still want to go camping with us, especially Disney, but now they can pay their own way. My next wish will be to see the world during the Christmas season.

IMHO May is the best time to go. Unfortunately, due to GS in school we have to settle for the first of June this trip (but it's still the fort--just more crowded and hotter :lmao: )
