Hi there,

Looking for ideas of what the weather will be like in May at Disney world??

Sunshine? Hot? Rain?

Please comment so I know what kind of clothes to pack / what to expect!

The last 2 times we went were beautiful.

23-26C everyday. Warm evenings. Even good waterpark weather. If any showers at all they were short-lived.

We were there in early May 2009 for 10 days. It was hot and sunny the entire time. We didn't even see a rain cloud! I had packed pants and couple of long sleeved shirts (just in case) and it was a waste of time and suitcase space. Our flight arrived at 11:30 p.m. and by the time we got to our room it was close to 2 a.m. and it was still super warm outside.

We are going in May again this year and I will only be packing shorts and t-shirts!!!

Have a great trip, you picked a great time to visit Orlando.

One word, GORGEOUS! Love May.

I would pack 1 pair of pants and a sweatshirt just in case. Other than that, you should be fine with all shorts and t-shirts. ;)

We go at this time every year... The weather is always amazing and to top it off... the parks are relatively quiet!

While I agree with pp that the weather is usually beautiful in May, always be prepared for rain. We went for 10 days in May 2009 and it rained EVERY day...record rainfalls. Most memorable trip we have had. Look at the forecast just before you leave. It was only supposed to rain for 2-3 days. We had packed 12 rain capes for the 4 of us for that trip and every one got used.

That being said we have gone 2 other times in May and did not see a drop!

Enjoy!

Went the first week of may last year and not a drop of rain in sight, the temps were short/tanktop and tshirt weather the whole week---they were in the middle of a heat wave down there for that week i believe as temps were hotter than average for that time of year!Hope it stays the same for this may!!!

We were there at the beginning of May in 2007. The weather was perfect. The days were hot and sunny and the evenings warm. It only rained once. We went to BB once as well and it was a blast.

We were there at the beginning of May 2009. It was a little bit hot for us but we managed. We are the rope drop/lunch/head back to hotel/dinner/return to parks type of people anyway. I think we had rain the last night we were there, as I remember getting a plastic bag for our ponchoes at Le Cellier during that trip.

To show you the beautiful sunshine we had (and relatively empty parks), here are some pictures:

But if you have visions of going to Fantasmic!, be there early!

You can see most people have summer clothing on in these pictures. I am sure you will have a great time! I wish we were going in May!

We went in mid-May 2007, early-May 2009, and are going again mid-May this year.

In 2007 the weather was great, usually in the mid-80, although it got hot one day in when we were in AK, where we also got our only rain of the trip.

In 2009, hotter and more rain (but not too much rain). The first two days there it was 95 and 98 at the airport - don't know how hot it was in the park. The first day we went back to our hotel in the afternoon for a swim, then went back to MK at night (EMH until midnight). At least when it is hot in the day it is nice and warm at night. The second day we are at DHS, and the best I can say is there are lots of indoor rides. We did watch the Lights, Motor, Action show and it was hot waiting, but once the show got going, we didn't really notice it.

Funny how I hate hot weather at home and usually hide inside with the A/C but I can ignore it on vacation!

Another good thing about the May weather is the water parks are great. Even the water rides in MK and AKL are fine, because you dry out quickly. It is not as humid as in the summers months.

If you want to check the weather for the last 10 years, got to this site and enter Orlando and the dates you will be there

One other thing to add is that where you are from will change your perception of the weather there. I have seen people from Alberta comment on how humid it was in Orlando at the same time we were there. Being from Ontario, we are more used to humidity and did not notice it.

(I think, however, the summer in Florida would be too much for us).
