May vs August

May 6 - 13 or August 5 - 12

I need pros and cons for each time period. I know that August would be cheaper, but what about crowds and weather compared to May? Are there longer park hours in the summer? Is Flower and Garden still happening in May?

Please if anyone can compare these weeks for me I would greatly appreciate it. We want to book now to make sure we get the resort and room we want.

August is MUCH MORE CROWDED than May (especially the first half of August).

August is MUCH HOTTER than May.

Park hours are long at the beginning of August but get shorter near the end of the month.

I've been in early August, late August and early May. We will definitely go back in May, but not so sure about August. August was too hot and too crowded. I felt like we were able to see and do more in May. It was much more pleasant. If you have a choice, go in May.

even though I am one of the nutso's going in early August, I would always pick May over August for the simple fact May is not Hurricane Season!!!

No question, MAY! August is too hot, too crowded, and there's too much of a chance for a hurricane.

Ive been in August Twice (My anniversary is Aug 9) and May once my Birthday is May 10. I prefered May because of the flower concerts, and no hurricanes,. Yes I got to do one last August.

August was nice late hours but not enough to make it better than May. Also most kids are still in schol so if you dont have that to worry about May is better for that reason too. It was 95 when we went in may so I dont know about too much cooler. But less humid I think.

We went May 4th this year and are now going back August 11th. This past May was much busier than previous trips but then it was the start of the 50th celebration, opening of Soarin et. all. It's been a while since we've gone in August but I expect hotter weather and larger crowds so I'd chose May for also the flower power events.
