May visit...right before Memorial Day or right after?

We are looking to book a last minute trip for this May. We can either arrive on the Wednesday before Memorial Day and stay until the next Wednesday or we can arrive on Friday night/Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend and stay the whole next week. I can’t decide if it’s better to have those 2 days before Memorial Day weekend or arrive on the weekend and have that next week. We plan to do 4 or 5 park days over a 7 day trip. Anyone have experience with this weekend in the past?

That is a tough one. However, after thinking about it, I'd say Weds to Weds, as you'd have a little of the weekday before the holiday chaos, then a little bit after the holiday chaos. I have a feeling the week prior will be less busy than the week after, because you have to consider not only the holiday, but summer vacation starts letting out towards the end of May up until June, so those few days prior to that holiday might lessen the chance of summer break kids as well being a factor.

Most FL schools get out the week of Mem day so your crowds would be slightly lower.

I think you’d be okay either way with a slight edge to before the holiday. Early June is not quite as busy as late June, so I don’t think you’d encounter crazy crowds.

A lot of schools are out for the summer from Memorial day weekend on. If you want to avoid the school aged kiddo crowds and don't have school age children, this is the route to go!
