Hi everyone!

We are trying to plan our stay for next year. In everyone's experience which time of year is better? Third week of May or Second week in October. I'm trying to take in consideration discounts, crowds, weather, etc.

BTW in May we will be celebrating a two year adoption anniversary for one dd, adoption celebration for three other dd's and 15 year wedding anniversary for me and DH.

What does everyone think?

I'd definitely pick October. Epcot Food & Wine Festival & Mickey's Halloween Party. Plus Halloween decorations at the Magic Kingdom. Discounts are usually sporatic in October as they are offered just during certain weeks.

We love the exact same weeks you have chosen. May will be warmer with the humidity and will have longer operating hours. The sun stays out longer in may so the night time activities will be later (example FANTASMIC is at 7:30 in October and at 9 in May). We have actually found the crowds to be about the same with the exception of water parks seem to be more crowded in May. I would let it boil down to why your going. In Oct you will have MNSSHP/F&W Festival and in May you will have the fun of Star Wars weekends. Outside of that you should have about the same experience.

Well, as a fellow adoptive Mom, I'm all for celebrating your children's anniversaries when they joined your forever family!! But, I have to agree with the other poster, if I had my choice, I would go in October for the reasons mentioned. We love F&W and the Halloween decor.

I will say, though, I don't think you can go wrong with either -- so good luck with your planning and big congrats on your precious family. Can you believe how blessed we are???:goodvibes

We were just there in May, until the 17th. The Flower And Garden even was running during that time, I think you would miss it though, just barely.

If you were going during Flower and Garden, I think it would be a closer comparison to the Oct with F&W ... it was our first Flower and garden this year, but I understand it was ramped up considerably. I asked a CM (not that you can ever be certain on the words of a CM) but they said basically the plan was to make it comparable to the F&W in the Fall.

Flower and Garden was awesome to say the least.

If Halloween is a big deal, I hear the Halloween stuff is pretty cool, my sister and niece did it this past fall and loved it.

The two best months to go.:thumbsup2 I prefer May for weather, but Oct for the food and wine. The bands they have at Epcot are usually a lot of fun in October. If I had to pick I would go in May. My husband would pick October. I don't think you can wrong with either.

We have been both times and I feel that October is preferable to May. We went for our first big trip during Mother's Day weekend plus three days and enjoyed it a lot. We have been two times during October and loved Mickey's Not-so-Scary Halloween Party (my wife is a Halloween fanatic). The weather was better during October and the crowds a little bit lower.

My vote is to go in October. Heat in May could be unbearable. Crowds in October aren't bad at all and the weather is usually pretty mild. I have been twice in October and loved the crowds and weather. We went this past April and already had 90 degree temps in mid April so I would never be able to tolerate May heat and humidity.

We go every May for Mothers Day Weekend as well as the second week in October every year. Our favorite is May because the weather is just perfect and we have never been rained out in May. October can be tricky because of tropical storms. Either way have a FANTASTIC trip!

We have been both times and it was hot both times, we liked Oct better because of F&W and Halloween. Have a great trip!
