Well, I just joined the Board recently to research our Disney World trip coming up in May. I'm super excited, so I thought I'd try my hand at a pre-trip report. Hopefully that will help channel some of my anticipation into something useful!
First, a quick introduction. The travelers on this trip will just be my and my husband, Mike. I've been to Disney World several times, mostly as a child. The last time I went to Disney World was while I was in college and it has been more than 10 years. I recently found out Mike has never been there!

We were at his parents house for Christmas and they mentioned that they would be going to Orlando as his dad had a meeting there this year. Mike commented that he had never been to Disney World. How have we know each other for six years and I didn't know he'd never been to Disney World! We were at the airport the day after Christmas and I suggested that instead of the one big vacation we had planned for 2011, we split it up into 2 smaller vacations so we could also go to Disney World. He loves Disney and Pixar and is often a child at heart, so he quickly agreed
Therefore our 2011 plan became 5 nights in Disney World and 10 nights in the Fall for the U.K.

Well, things moved pretty quickly after that. We talked over dates and decided that May would probably work best for us. I did some research and learned that May seems to be a good time to go to Disney World, not value season but not peak time either. It was also around our anniversary. And to Mike's delight, Star War's Weekend was in May too. We settled on May 17th to May 22nd to avoid the Memorial Day Crowds but also be able to catch Stars War weekend. We had our room booked by New Year's Eve. Disney World, here we come!
