check out this news story that happened here on Long Island. The general consensus is that it is both hysterical yet very scary!

New York (CNN) -- Long Island may be far from the Death Star, but that didn't stop Darth Vader from paying a less-than-friendly visit to a bank in East Setauket, New York.

Or at least he looked like Darth Vader, except for the camouflage pants.

The costumed man, with a mask and cape, entered a Chase bank Thursday morning and demanded cash. Although he didn't have a lightsaber, his gun was more than enough to persuade the teller to hand over the money.

The caped criminal then fled east through the bank's parking lot.

Suffolk County police said they are searching for the man, described as around 6 feet tall.

I saw that on the news this morning and I can't lie but I was cracking up. Of course it isn't funny that he robbed a bank and could of hurt people but the whole Darth Vader costume was pretty funny. Imagine if a clone trooper jumped out from behind the Customer Service desk?

I saw it on Fox news down here can always count on something from NY to keep me in touch with my native nyer roots unbelieveable I like the pp saying a strom trooper should have jumped out at the perp...glad no one was hurt

I admit the get-up is pretty funny but, of course, robbing a bank is no joke. I hope they find him soon!

My daughter and I were in that bank about 10 mins before he robbed it! They still haven't found him & her camp a few blocks away had the kids in lockdown for the rest of the afternoon. I give him credit for a creative disguise, but I am worried about him robbing other banks in the area.

OMG....bet you were shaking after you heard that ! I have all the faith in the world with the SCPD, they'll find the guy.....really its not that original Patrick Swayze had a movie (forget the name of it) where the guys put on different presidents masks and robbed banks....thought of that immdiately when I heard the news

That's a crazy story, hope they catch Darth soon...
