So we are planning an anniversary trip/1st trip to Hawaii for my parents and my brother and I. What month would you all choose? We plan to see Pearl Harbor, Waterfalls, and do some snorkeling.

May or September are great times to go to Hawaii from a price point and from a crowds point of view. You will almost always get great airfare in middle May and mid to late September. I have not been to Aulani during these months but from reading the reports here I do know these are great times to go with good availability for DVC. These are also great months weather wise however mid-sept might be a bit warmer in the ocean.

Hopefully the crowds are not bad in May! We are going the 7-12th and excited to explore the island for the first time.

Both are slower and better in price but I feel May is wonderful..mainly due to the weather. September still has some higher temps and humidity.

I can't compare it to anything but we felt our late September trip was a great time to go. We did get good airfare, and we had fabulous weather the whole time. Mid-high 80s everyday, and no rain. Everywhere we stayed didn't feel crowded or overrun, and we did not experience the tumultuous pool chair situation at Aulani because it didn't seem like Aulani was at capacity. Since this is the very beginning of the school year for many, I think that contributed to the lack of school age children when we were there.
