Okay, let me say I respect people's privacy. I REALLY do. However, I have to know just what is going on in the Surial Bath at the spa! Are people really doing what they imply they're doing? Is is sanitary? Do the spa people clean up thoroughly after each "session"? It doesn't appear from the photos that it would be comfortable doing the "things" that are implied. Sure, I'm naive; been accused for years of having a very "cute little brain" when referring to these type of "things". It just sounds like there's more than exfoliating going on here. ;)

Ummm - thats the rumors Ive heard too but have yet to experience as we go on our first Disney cruise in Nov.

We may just use our room when DS is in the Lab

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that people are referring to intimacy or (second base).

I'll let you know after my June cruise.

Previous threads say that people really do those things but the floor is HARD so bring towles. I am all for the room while DS is in the lab but DH wants to give the Surial Bath a try in Jan. We will see. . . . . . .

You can do a board here that may help answer some questions from those who have tried it. On the Trip Reports board
"Hiddenhearth" has done an excellent 10 chapter report called
"Time is not fair" that has kept readers LOL. He is just getting to their "Surial Bath" experience and kept us hanging on for Ch 11:)

I'm so glad you asked, becuase I've been wondering, too! I saw Barb's pictures of the SR and it really looked uncomfortable for that kind of, uh, activity! And after I saw the commercial for "The Little Souvenir," it seemed like "activity" is encouraged! Hmm...I guess I'll find out next April!

DH is interested in this spa "treatment" as well. Do they come in and out or can you lock the door? I've heard it's really hot in there (teehee), bring water bottles.

4nana, thanks for the link, I will be looking forward to Ch. 11 for more info...

Also, Laurajean, please come back and post after your cruise, I follow you in July.

4nana: Oh my god, he's so funny! He is so detailed - maybe we'll all find out for sure if he does tell all in #11. Thanks for the link.

I guess I'm really wondering if this "thing" is the intentional purpose of this room or is it just what the patrons have turned it into. Too funny! Is it thoroughly disinfected after it's been used? Are there locks - is one at least a deadbolt? Does that commercial specifically refer to the spa  or just the cruise itself? I came home from our honeymoon cruise 13 years ago with a little souvenir myself - no spa treatment necessary. :p

The attendant gives you a knock on the door with a "10 minute warning" when time is almost up. Other than that, once she explains everything in the beginning and leaves, its all yours.
And yes, the commercial refers to the spa. :D

Hubby said today, that this is a "treatment" that he would like to try. I guess I'll find out in 14 (!) days!!!!!!!!

1. Without giving too much away.....there is a bench in the front room and seats in the back room. But take note...the steam coming out of the back of the seats in the back room can make it a little hot, so hurry. :)

2. Did anyone else read a thread posted here a while ago about how there is a massage room right next door to the Surial Room. (or mabye one on both sides, not sure, can't remember from this particular post) And while someone was getting a massage, the CM told the guest that "Yes", the sounds they were hearing from next door was someone "enjoying" the surial bath, and that since the walls of the Surial bath are tile, there is NO SOUND PROOFING. (In fact it echoes) And the CM and the guest "counted down" to when whoever was in the next room "finished".

I read it here!

DH and I enjoyed the Suriel Bath 2/2002. No, we didn't enjoy it THAT much. The CM who went over the directions told us she has cleaned up mudprints on the ceiling. Too funny. I enjoyed the Bath. It was relaxing and the mud and oils do make you feel rejuvinated afterwards. We definately will do this again.

Well.....we enjoyed it that much. We've done the surial twice now and we're going to book it again in September (maybe twice). It's definitely an experience you won't have at home. ;)

Hard floors and mud prints on the ceiling!!

Now that would take a double doze of Vioxx..LOL! ;)

4Nana... LOL!!!

But notice still no reply to the original question

Okay....you're right...the answer to the original question is...

Yes, people are doing THE DEED while they are in this room. You do the mud on each other, go steam and then go wash off together. But they give you like 45 minutes to do that....so there is plenty of time for the deed.

And it is relatively sanitary. Relative to what and where you think is sanitary. They clean the room out after ever time, and CM said they spray it down with disinfectant. However, you may go into the room and there may be water on the floor from the previous people.

I hope this answers the original question. Either way...this has been a pretty funny thread. :D

Thanks - actually I got some pretty fantastic PM's on this - thanks so much for the honesty about the "deed" :p Not that I want to start something new, but I have no idea what "Vioxx" is? Is that a cleaner? Also, it sounds like you have to be pretty trusting in the CM's to remember to knock when your time's up. It does sound like a memorable experience, though (especially on a Disney ship). :earseek:

Vioxx, Is an anti-inflammatory med. Good for arthritis and such.
