Updated my post on page one. Doing pretty well reducing the random spending here and there. Skipped any "recreational" spending at yard sales this past Saturday because it was raining. But DD comes home from school this week, so I anticipate my "no-buy" days will be greatly reduced! She will probably need some work clothes for her summer internships, plus a few things for the apartment and some groceries. And we have a Mother/Daughter road trip planned for while she is home, but we will try to keep this a budget trip which means packing up a cooler and such.
DS wanted to hit the local "snack shack" on opening day for a burger and I decided if he wanted that kind of splurgfe he could pay for it himself, so he did! He spent about $12 on a burger, onion rings, and a soda (all big treats for this household). I went with him and brought along a turkey sandwich and a mason jar of lemonade! We sat together and talked and enjoyed the sun, but I spent nothing! He was going to get an ice cream as well, but was too full. I reminded him that there was a bit of ice cream at home in the freezer, and he never even bothered to eat it!
I anticipate just one more good "no buy" day here (tomorrow) before I pick up DD and the budget goes out the window! It was good while it lasted!..........P
Yay on your son buying his snack!! $12 each week would really hurt your budget. I would also bring my own foods and my kids would be so embarrassed but I don't listen to them.

if there is one.
